I’ve been obsessed with healthy meal kits ever since I first heard of/tried Hello Fresh a few years ago. It seems like these days everyone is talking about them (and for good reason!). The convenience, health factor, and ease of cooking the meals just can not be beat.
Top-Notch Healthy Meal Kits
I’m going to go through the 4 healthy meal kits that I think are the best possible options for you guys. If you want to eat healthier, but sometimes struggle to find the time to find a recipe, grocery shop, AND cook the meal… These are perfect for you and will fit right into your busy lifestyle!
I love healthy meal kits because it takes all of the guesswork out of cooking. You don’t have to hunt down a recipe and cross your fingers that it’s actually good (and easy to make). You have all the ingredients delivered to your door, with the recipes included.
Since these services deliver ONLY the amount of each ingredient you actually need, you don’t waste a bunch of food either! This is another huge plus for me because I hate wasting food.
Like when I buy a whole bunch of cilantro for a recipe, then only end up needing 1 tbsp… And I tell myself “I’ll definitely end up using the rest of it throughout the week.” (We all know how that goes…)
So then a week later I have a bunch (minus one tbsp) of cilantro chillin’ in my fridge that’s gone bad and is just a huge waste. I hate that!

This service fits right in with your nutritional goals, whatever they are! Whether it be weight loss, improving your fitness & athletic performance, or just overall feeling healthier… This plan is perfect!
Fresh Meal Plan is also different from the rest because it delivers pre-cooked meals to you! So not only do you not have to worry about grocery shopping, you don’t even have to take the time to cook these meals. That’s a huge time saver and you can use that time to spend time with the family, work on your own projects, or simply relax.
Fresh Meal Plan has options for all meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. You can view the full menu (including all options: paleo, keto, vegan…) on their website under the “The Food” category.
This plan takes all the work out of cooking a meal, while still giving you a much healthier option than dining out. You don’t have to worry about shopping, cooking, or even cleaning. It’s all done for you.
2. Gobble (15 minute dinner kits!)
Okay guys, let’s be real… You’re reading about healthy meal kits because you want something incredibly convenient and easy right?! I feel you there.
That’s why Gobble is my #2 service up in here (convenience-wise). Their meals are not only healthy & so yummy, but they can be cooked in only 15 minutes! That’s right: one quarter of an hour (!!!)
If you live in an apartment or a smaller space (like me), these are great because they only use one pan. So that means fewer dishes, less mess, and little to no cleanup. Which I am a BIG fan of.
Before they deliver the food to your door, they do all the prep work for you. So you don’t have to worry about peeling all the veggies and marinating the meat for hours… It’s all done beforehand!
You get a fresh & tasty meal, with minimal work. Then you can relax right after dinner because you’ll only spend 5 minutes or less on cleanup. 😉
If you want to save tons of time, still eat healthy, and actually enjoy your evenings… This is the service for you. 🙂
3. Purple Carrot (Plant-based meal delivery)
Now don’t think I forgot my vegetarians/vegans out there! Purple Carrot is a meal subscription that sends all delicious plant-based meals. They have options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks!
Purple Carrot comes with some amazing plant-based dishes, including recipes that I could never come up with on my own! Meals like crispy plantain tacos, carrot pesto cavatappi, and kale & tempeh chorizo scramble.
They also have awesome vegetarian-friendly snacks & desserts such as mushroom jerky, cookies, and dark chocolate.
If you’re a vegetarian or just looking to eat a more plant-based diet from time to time, you should definitely check out Purple Carrot. Eating plant-based meals is great for the environment (by lowering your carbon footprint) and great for YOU.
I am not a vegetarian and don’t see myself ever eating a fully plant-based diet… But I love trying out vegetarian options in my meals! I’ll try to eat a plant-based dinner at least a couple of times a week.
4. Hello Fresh
Last but not least, one of the OG (and one of my favorite) healthy meal kits: Hello Fresh! We’ve all heard of Hello Fresh, and for good reason. They are known for having delicious, healthy, simple to prepare meals, delivered to your doorstep.
Hello Fresh was one of the first healthy meal kits I tried and it made me fall in love with them in the first place. I’ve never had a meal I didn’t like from them and they continuously make me branch out of my comfort zone.
As with a lot of these services, Hello Fresh sends you ingredients that you probably haven’t cooked with before. While that could be intimidating trying to cook the meal on your own, it’s so easy with Hello Fresh!
When I cook on my own and have to find a recipe, then hunt through the store to find an ingredient I’ve never bought before… That just puts a damper on the whole cooking experience.
With these healthy meal kits, you have the perfect amount of the new ingredient sent to you. The recipes are also incredibly easy to understand, even for newbies. They make it so easy to cook a meal, even if it’s something you’ve never heard of before!
Hello Fresh comes in a variety of options for different palates & dietary needs. They have a meat & veggie option (which I like), just veggie, family-friendly, and a low-calorie option.
