I’ve been obsessed with energy ball recipes lately, so I wanted to do a roundup of the best ones on the world wide web. There are a huge variety of energy & protein bites in this article, so you’re sure to find something that catches your fancy. 😉 I hope you guys enjoy these addicting little snacks as much as I have been!
The Best Protein & Energy Ball Recipes
All of these recipes belong to amazing health & food bloggers around the “blogosphere”. I don’t take credit for any of the recipes or photos (except my own energy ball recipes, of course)!
To see more recipes or posts from any of these bloggers, just follow the link to their recipe/blog!
All I know is that protein/energy balls are an amazing healthy snack. They’re super easy to make, most of them are no-bake recipes, and can usually be whipped up in under an hour.
They typically last forever in the fridge/freezer too, so if you make a bunch you will be able to munch on them for a week or two. I love to have energy bites before a workout, with my morning coffee, or as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up!
I’m so excited to try these recipes and have them all in one place for when a craving hits. This is basically a giant archive of delicious & healthy energy balls!
So… ENJOY! 🙂
1. Cashew/Medjool Date Recovery Bites
These 4-ingredient recovery bites from Coach Debbie Runs are simple to make and jammed packed with nutritious ingredients. They have no added sugar and are naturally sweetened by the Medjool dates.
They are also vegan & gluten-free! These bites have protein powder added as well, making them perfect for recovery.

These are my own energy bite recipe made with espresso, cocoa powder, oats, and more healthy ingredients! They’re the perfect pick-me-up with your morning coffee, afternoon snack, or before a workout.
These energy bites are so easy to make and taste like a delicious treat (but are actually really healthy). I love to munch on these in the mornings and before my workouts.
You all know how much I love my coffee, so adding coffee to energy balls was an obvious go-to for me! These are a no-bake recipe and only take about 5-10 minutes of actual prep.

3. Carob Walnut Energy Balls
These walnut energy balls are inspired by a dessert, carob walnut halva, but in healthy snack form!

These no-bake PB banana energy bites are a perfect quick snack! Made with only 6 ingredients and full of wholesome goodness, you know you’re going to feel great after munching on these bad boys.
I love a good peanut butter, chocolate, and banana combo, so these energy balls are combining all my faves! I don’t think I’d be able to stop once I started eating them…
5. Pecan Pie Energy Balls
If you’re looking for a healthy twist on the classic pecan pie recipe, look no further! These energy balls remind me of Thanksgiving dessert all wrapped up into a healthy little snack.
They are a no-bake recipe and packed with the goodness of dates, pecans, almonds, and more! So you will not only feel like you’re eating dessert, but you’ll feel great after eating them too. It’s a win-win!
6. Vegan Reese’s Energy Bites
Speaking of desserts… These healthy Reese’s bites are the perfect way to fulfill your peanut butter & chocolate craving! I’m always craving Reese’s pb cups, so having a healthier option on hand is an absolute must.
These babies are gluten-free, vegan, and have no added sugar. They’re also jam packed with whole grains and healthy fats, so they will leave you feeling incredible.
Even though we can always use a good Reese’s from time to time, it’s definitely nice to have a healthy option for when those cravings hit! Especially if you’re looking for a pre-workout snack that you don’t want to crash from 30 minutes into your workout.
7. Raw Lemon Coconut Bites
Another of (Healthy Helper) Kaila’s energy ball recipes are these delicious lemon coconut bites! I absolutely love anything coconut flavored, especially in the summer, so these look amazing.
The combination of lemon & coconut is so fruity and tropical, it’s a real treat! They’re also vegan & gluten-free, so if you have dietary restrictions these are a no brainer.
8. Chocolate Peanut Butter Coconut Energy Balls
Another option for my coconut (and chocolate lovers out there) are these PB chocolate coconut energy balls! These sound like a Reese’s peanut butter cup and a Mounds bar all rolled up into a delicious bite-size healthy snack.
For my candy bar lovers out there, looking for a healthier option, these may be the perfect fit for you. I can’t get enough of a good chocolate, coconut combo, so I imagine adding peanut butter will only escalate the deliciousness!

10. Gingerbread Energy Balls
These gingerbread energy balls are some of the most festive ones I’ve seen yet! They’re perfect for the upcoming fall/winter season, to get in the holiday spirit. Or to just have around any time of year because gingerbread is delicious. 😉
If you’re feeling extra festive, you could even build them into a gingerbread man or house! Just kidding. Maybe.
These energy balls are loaded with healthy fats and protein from nuts/seeds. They’re a perfect way to get that gingerbread kick, in a healthy option.
11. Lemon Turmeric Energy Balls
These delicious & healthy lemon turmeric energy balls are the perfect healthy snack. They’re packed with superfoods like turmeric and chia seeds.
They’re also full of plant-based protein and fiber, so you know you’re going to feel great after eating these!
12. No-Bake Lemon Poppyseed Snack Balls
Staying on the lemon kick (because it’s summer and lemon is delicious!). These lemon poppyseed snack balls are perfect for when you’re craving a lemony dessert but want something a little healthier instead.
These snack balls are vegan, gluten-free, and have no added sugar. They’re made with wholesome ingredients and perfect to have with breakfast, a mid-day snack, or as a little *healthier* dessert.
13. Pre-Workout Potato Energy Bites
These energy bites are a little different from all the sweet & dessert-like recipes we’ve been talking about. This is a perfect snack to bring with you on-the-go when you want an energy ball that’s a little more savory! But they still have a hint of sweetness from the vanilla and maple syrup.
Emily, the creator behind Sinful Nutrition, is an RD, so you know you’re getting an energy ball jam-packed with nutrition. You can find the recipe for her pre-workout potato energy bites here!
14. Matcha Chia Seed Energy Bites
