I tried out Verb Bars a couple of years ago and I’m not going to lie to y’all… I hated them. I thought they had no flavor, a weird texture, and they didn’t give me energy. But recently Mary & I have been seeing them pop up all over our feeds again and everyone seems to be talking about them. So we figured – maybe they improved the recipe? I mean, they have a bunch of new flavors and people seem to be hyping them up 24/7 so they must be good, right?!? We’ll see about that… Today, we’re digging deep for this honest, unfiltered Verb Energy Bar Review
Verb Energy Bar Review
I’m going to be answering a lot of common questions about Verb bars below, but if you’re here just for the flavor breakdown, you’ll want to check out the video!
We shared our honest opinions on all the new flavors of these bars in the video below (cookie butter, double chocolate, peppermint mocha, vanilla latte & banana bread.) If you’re considering buying these but don’t know which flavors are good (and which ones suck…) definitely watch the video before purchasing!

Do Verb Energy Bars Taste Good?
This was my main concern with buying these bars again because I really didn’t like the flavor last time I tried them. Luckily, a few of the new flavors were MUCH better than the old ones I’d tried. (To see which ones, watch the video above ;)).
However, a few of the flavors I still found to be pretty lackluster… They are just a little too subtle for me and I think they would taste better if they gave them more flavor.
Even more than the flavor, it’s a texture thing for me. The texture is weird and kind of greasy. I don’t think it’s necessarily a “bad” greasy, it’s probably just some sort of nut butter I would guess. But nonetheless, I’m a big texture person when it comes to food and these still just don’t do it for me. Too squishy.
Do They Give You Energy?
For me, no.
But for other people – maybe?
They market their bars as having “only 90 calories and as much caffeine as an espresso” (1) which I believe is around 60-65mg. The caffeine is from green tea.
Personally, I drink a lot of coffee (2 lattes a day = 4 shots of espresso a day) so 60-65mg caffeine from green tea just doesn’t do much for me.
I said the same thing about the Olipop sodas when we tried those, which you can read all about here if you’re interested.
That being said, for people who aren’t coffee addicts like me, this could give you a good little boost!
Are Verb Energy Bars Filling?
Big no.
The first thing you’ll notice when you get these bars in the mail is that they’re TINY. I didn’t measure them, but I distinctly remember Mary saying 2 inches in the video review.
If you’re looking for a little energy boost (and not a caffeine addict, like I mentioned above…) these could probably be that for you. But if you’re looking for a filling snack, either look elsewhere or expect to eat at least 2-3 of these to get the job done.
If you really enjoy these bars but are looking for ways to make them more filling, I’d definitely suggest adding almond butter or peanut butter. That sounds delicious and would give you a boost of protein and filling healthy fats!
Are Verb Bars Healthy?
Absolutely.
I 100% believe that any foods can fit into a healthy lifestyle and that there’s no such thing as “good” or “bad” foods. But if you’re looking for a snack with some nutritional value, these little guys pack a punch.
A bar has 90 calories, 3.5-4.5g fat, low or no sodium, 12-13g carbohydrates, 5-6g sugar, and a little bit of iron and vitamins. The main ingredient is gluten-free oats, along with nut butter, brown rice, and organic flavorings (1).
Like I mentioned above, if you want to boost the satiety factor on these a bit and make them a more balanced snack, add a spoonful of nut butter and a piece of fruit. That would make it a much more satisfying snack in my book.
Verb Energy Bar Review: Final Thoughts
Overall, I still didn’t love these bars and would never reach for them if I got hungry. However, a few of the new flavors are 10x better than the old flavors, so I can’t completely bash them.
If you’re looking for a little caffeine kick and your caffeine tolerance isn’t stupidly high like mine, these would be a great energy boost! However, they’re tiny and definitely not a filling snack on their own.

Hello there! This is kind of off topic but I need some advice from an established blog. Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking about creating my own but I’m not sure where to begin. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Many thanks

Hey there! I shared some tips in one of my past blog posts: https://vitality-vixens.com/index.php/2020/07/02/how-to-start-a-money-making-blog-as-a-beginner/. I use wordpress (.org, not .com) and love it! I shared a few other resources in that article too that I still use and would highly recommend (canva, hostgator, google analytics). If you have any questions in particular, let me know, and I’ll help with what I can! 🙂

I just bought these because of a few Youtubers who love them. They are obviously being sponsored. First I thought it was chocolate and I just had the banana bread and yes weird texture, not as bad as RX bars, awful flavor and you’re right nothing filling. I have a sample pack that I got 1/2 off but for the price and what’s in these I will not be reordering. I’ve yet to find a good protein bar.

Agreed completely on the texture. My favorite protein bars I’ve found are Built Bar (which we reviewed on here + YouTube) and recently I found Barebells which are super yummy too!
