Hiyaaa! It’s time for an updated Liquid IV review. I’ve been drinking Liquid I.V. for years now and wrote my first review back in 2020. I figured: it’s been 3 years now, I’ve tried a BUNCH of new flavors, so why not write a new and improved review? Let’s get right into it!
An Honest Liquid IV Review (2023 Version)
I’ll start off by saying the benefits I’ve personally experienced from drinking Liquid IV.
Avoiding Dehydration:
Living in Florida, it’s really easy to get dehydrated, especially in the hot/humid summer. I try to drink 100 fl oz of water a day (definitely doesn’t happen every day, but a girl can try!)
But even with a good amount of water, I still feel dehydrated if I’m outdoors or sweaty from a workout. Anytime I start to feel any signs of dehydration (tired, feeling parched, dry mouth, etc.) I’ll drink a Liquid IV. 9 times out of 10, I feel completely better afterward.
Our bodies crave electrolytes that we lose through sweat, so it’s important to get electrolytes in our diet, or in supplement/drink form, to make up for what we lose when we sweat.
Improved Workouts:
Every time I work out, regardless if I’m doing a full strength workout, or just walking on the treadmill, I’ll bring a Liquid IV. This helps to replenish the electrolytes I lose when I sweat (as mentioned above) and I genuinely feel like it improves my energy in my workouts.
Liquid I.V. vs. Other Brands:
Honestly, I think if you’re drinking any brand of electrolyte beverage, you’re already on the right track. Staying hydrated is so important for our health, and electrolyte drinks are an easy way to help with that.
Personally, I like the taste of Liquid IV more than other brands I’ve tried. I also love that they have both a regular and sugar-free version (made with allulose).
I like the regular version better because I don’t like drinks sweetened with anything other than basic sugar. Believe me, I’ve tried, but any sort of artificial or natural sweetener (even allulose, which seems to be one of the best options) just doesn’t sit well with my stomach.
However, it’s great that they have both options, so everyone can get the type of electrolyte drink they want!
Liquid IV also has TONS of flavors at this point. My personal favorites are the lemon-lime and strawberry lemonade.

Best Regular Flavors
Lemon Lime
The first flavor I ever tried of Liquid IV, and to this day one of my all-time favorites.
You just can’t go wrong with a basic lemon electrolyte drink. It quenches your thirst so well and is super refreshing.
Pro tip: mix the lemon LIV with lime true lime packs for a DELICIOUS lemon-lime flavor.
Strawberry Lemon
This is a slightly newer flavor and my absolute favorite I’ve ever tried from Liquid IV! It honestly tastes exactly like strawberry lemonade.
In the past, I would mix the lemon-lime packs with the regular strawberry packs to try to make strawberry lemonade myself. So needless to say, when they released an actual strawberry lemonade flavor, I was thrilled!
This is my go-to and I drink it almost every day.
If I had to recommend one flavor, it would definitely be this one. If you’re a strawberry lemon fan, you absolutely won’t be disappointed.
Other Flavor Rankings
Other yummy flavors: golden cherry (9/10), strawberry (9/10), watermelon (7/10)
Decent flavors: acai berry (6/10), passion fruit (5/10)
Not my cup of tea: tropical punch, pina colada, grape, guava
The flavors are all exactly what you’d expect. I’m not a big tropical flavor fan and I definitely don’t like grape-flavored things. So my rankings make sense for my personal preference.
I’d recommend trying out a couple of flavors (building a bundle) or buying the variety pack the first time. That way, you can see what your favs are!
Sugar-Free Liquid IV Review
Liquid IV recently released a sugar-free version of its electrolyte packs.
Like I said above, I’m not a big fan of any type of sugar-free drinks, so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this.
I tried all 3 of the flavors and honestly, they taste good! They don’t taste artificial in my opinion.
They’re sweetened with allulose, which is “a naturally occurring sugar found in figs, raisins, wheat, maple syrup, and molasses. It’s sweet like table sugar (sucrose) but without some of sugar’s well-documented downsides.”
“Chemically, allulose is similar to fructose, which is found naturally in fruits. It’s roughly 70% as sweet as sugar, so it tastes very similar. It is also not absorbed into the body, and therefore, does not contribute to your daily caloric intake.” (source)
Allulose is also what Smart Sweets are sweetened with if you’ve ever tried those! We did a review here if you want to check that out as well.
Out of the 3 sugar-free flavors I tried (white peach, lemon-lime, and green grape), peach is my favorite! I love peach-flavored anything and am really hoping LIV releases a regular peach pack as well. Liquid IV – if you’re reading this – PLEASE I’m begging! 😉
In Conclusion
I absolutely love Liquid IV and don’t plan on drinking any other electrolyte drink anytime soon.
