Hi guys! Welcome back to the blog. 🙂 Time for another honest & unsponsored review! I’ve been wanting to review this brand for a while. After seeing these t-shirts pop up in seemingly every YouTuber’s videos, I was curious if they were worth the hype! They’re pretty pricey for t-shirts, so they better be high-quality material, wrinkle-proof, gorgeous colors, and last a long time. Those are the main qualities I’ll be addressing in this Cuts review – let’s get into it…
Cuts Review
Upon receiving the box of Cuts tops, my first impressions were:
- The colors were a bit darker than what I expected from looking online.
- The material is really high quality. especially with the tank top, it’s much thicker than I expected.
- The tank top reminds me of the FP movement tank I recently bought, but thicker and a bit tighter. Honestly, I like the FP movement tank better and it was cheaper. The tight fit and thick material of the Cuts tank make it a bit less comfortable than the FP movement tank, in my opinion. But I’m biased because I’m looking for a thinner/lighter tank since I live in Florida. I’ll get more into it in the tank top section below.
The tops each came individually packaged, like this:
Tomboy Tee (Petrol)
All the tees had the little “X” Cuts logo on the side, on top of the stitching. You can see in the above picture on the right. It’s subtle and a nice touch. No over-the-top branding or printing “CUTS” somewhere on the top, which I appreciate.
The color is really nice if you’re looking for a blue-ish gray-ish shaded charcoal color. It’s neutral enough to match with most things, while also looking great on its own with a pair of jeans.
Although I must say, it’s a bit darker in person than it looks online. When I ordered it online, I was expecting a lighter teal color. This is still really nice though, so I’m not disappointed.
The Tomboy Tee is SO comfy and flattering. I normally don’t love the way plain t-shirts look on me, but this one fits perfectly and definitely a more elevated look than any old t-shirt.
In this tee (and the others) the material is fantastic. Our washing machine is not great and leaves most clothes wrinkled, even if they’re dried/hung immediately after the wash cycle.
But while these tees looked a bit wrinkly after coming out of our problematic washer, the wrinkles all disappeared after air drying them, and they’re perfectly smooth. I’m not sure how they do it, but the material is definitely high quality enough to not hold wrinkles. I don’t even have to steam these before wearing them, which can’t be said for most of my t-shirts and crop tees.
Tomboy Tee Cropped (Ivory)
This cropped tee is the same style as the Tomboy tee above, just in a cropped version. I love a cropped tee, so I was really excited to try this one on!
I absolutely love this top. The color is a really nice neutral cream color, not pure white, which is gorgeous. It goes with anything and everything.
This is the top out of the four that I’ve worn the most, by far. I’ve been wearing it at least once a week since I bought it.
It hasn’t gotten worn down, sweat stains, etc. It’s still going strong, and the material is the same wrinkle-proof high quality as the Tomboy tee. It’s really comfortable and soft.
The fit of the Tomboy tee and the crop is fantastic. The sleeves are the perfect length and hit the perfect spot on your shoulders. The length of the crop itself is great too, it hits right at the top of my high-waisted jeans, so I don’t feel uncomfortable wearing this to work, etc.
Here’s how it looks from the back and the side:
Color-wise, I was expecting this to be a bit more pale yellow tinted, based on the photos on Cuts’ website. But I think that’s because it was paired with pure white pants, which makes a cream color look more pastel yellow.
Overall, if I decide to buy anything from Cuts again, I’ll most definitely be purchasing more of these Tomboy tees and crop tees. They’re so comfortable, flattering, and overall a really high-quality shirt.
Almost Friday Tee Cropped (Infinity Blue)
I wanted to try out a couple of different crop tees to compare, so in addition to the tomboy crop, I bought the Almost Friday cropped tee.
This cropped tee is really cute and I’m obsessed with the infinity blue color! Blue is my favorite color to wear and this one is so pretty.
Compared to the Tomboy tees, I don’t love the fit of this one as much. It’s meant to be a looser top, so I was obviously expecting it to be a looser fit. But it’s a bit too loose in certain areas in my opinion. It gets crumpled up a bit in the sleeve/armpit areas and has too much extra room in the back.
If you want a loose crop tee (or t-shirt) this is a good option. But if you want a more form-fitted top, definitely go for the Tomboy tee.
Overall, the quality is still fantastic on this top, and I wear it pretty often! I normally end up wearing this one with more of a casual outfit, like bike shorts or leggings.
Coreflex Tank (Sage)
Out of all of the pieces I bought from Cuts, I was the least impressed with this one. It’s very cute and fits well, but it’s nothing special in my opinion and doesn’t at all feel worth $68 (!!!)
The color is nice and neutral, but again, darker in person than it seems in the photos on their website.
The ribbed texture is nice, but it’s honestly just really similar to the Free People movement tank top I bought in almost the same color. The FP movement top is a different style and thinner material, but honestly, I like it better, and it’s quite a bit cheaper.

The Coreflex tank is too thick for my liking. You can tell the material is very quality and will last a long time. But generally, if I’m wearing a tank top, it’s because it’s hot outside and I want to stay cool. So this material defeats the purpose of a tank top, in my opinion, especially in the summer heat and humidity.
I’m still going to keep this top and wait til fall/winter to see if my opinion improves once I can wear it underneath a cardigan or flannel. Fingers crossed I get more wear out of it then, because $68 is a really high price point for a tank top. In any other world where I wasn’t reviewing this brand, I wouldn’t have spent that much, no matter how high the quality is.
Cuts Review: Final Thoughts
All in all, I was really impressed with the quality and wrinkle-proof material of these tops! I absolutely love the Tomboy tees and will more than likely be buying more of them in different colors.
I hope this review helps you to make an informed decision if you were considering purchasing anything from Cuts Clothing!
