Paragon Fitwear Leggings Review
In this review, I’ll be covering all the things you need to know about these leggings:
- Are they squat proof?
- How they fit
- The material: Buttery soft? High compression? A bit of both?
- Scrunch bum
- How they hold up in workouts
The photos in this blog have NOT been edited/filtered, so you can see what the different colors look like in natural light! 🙂
Paragon was so kind to send us these pieces from their newest launches to try out. Thank you so much, Paragon! While these pieces were gifted to us, this review itself is not sponsored, and all the thoughts shared here are our 100% honest opinions.
Reluna Original Sculptseam Legging
Starting things off strong with a few different colors in the Reluna Original Sculptseam leggings.
You really can’t go wrong with the Reluna original sculptseam leggings. These leggings are buttery soft, lightweight, and oh so stretchy.
These leggings are great for low impact workouts like yoga, pilates, or walking. I also love these for everyday wear since they’re so comfortable and flattering.
While they’re great for low impact workouts, I’ve found that they also hold up very well for stregth training, at the gym or at home.
These leggings come in an array of beautiful colors, which I’ll show unedited/unfiltered photos of below, in natural light.
I always like to do this in my reviews since it’s hard to tell what color items actually are on some fitness brands websites. You never know if the photos have been edited, filtered, or taken in specific lighting. I hate when I order an item online and it’s nothing like it looked like on the website.
I haven’t noticed this with Paragon’s clothes specifically. But I’ve had bad experiences with Gymshark and other fitness brands where the color ends up being completely different from how it looked online.
Anyway, let’s get into the different colors of the Reluna Original Sculptseam leggings…
Thistle (sage green) (M)
The sage green Thistle color is absolutely stunning. I love sage green and have been looking for the perfect pair of sage leggings, and honestly I think I found them!
With all of these leggings, I’m doing the squat test to see if they’re squat proof.
Honestly, I had no expectation of these being squat proof since they’re a lighter color. So I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are! With the medium in these, they were completely squat proof on me.
I tested them with the Paragon cameltoe coverage thong (in the espresso color). If you’re looking for a good pair of underwear to wear under leggings, these are a game changer.
Dogwood (mauve) (M)
These are the most beautiful light mauve color. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this color, but it’s my favorite from the collection, closely competing with the sage green.
These are incredibly comfortable and buttery soft. The fit is incredible. They give you a lot of stretch and room to move around without falling down or rolling down at the waist.
Unfortunately, due to the lighter color, these are not completely squat proof (with darker underwear). I expect this with lighter colored leggings at this point since it’s hard to find lighter leggings from any brand that are 100% squat proof.
These are not see through at all when you’re standing up, but when squatting, they are a bit see through. I would recommend wearing them with nude colored undies that match your skin tone.
I did a second squat test with the Paragon cameltoe coverage thong (in the latte color) and they were 100% squat proof with those.
Everglades (M)
I love the green color of these – super pretty and earthy vibes.
Like all of the other Reluna leggings, these are very soft and comfy while still being flattering to wear.
They hold up great in workouts and I love to wear these for Pilates, yoga, or strength training.
These are unfortunately not fully squat proof with darker colored undies (I tested them with the Paragon cameltoe coverage thong [in the espresso color].)
I would recommend wearing them with nude colored undies that match your skintone. I did a second squat test with the Paragon cameltoe coverage thong (in the latte color) and they were 100% squat proof with those.
Ink (navy) (M)
The ink is a really nice dark navy color. These leggings are very flattering on and super comfortable.
Unfortunately, they’re not fully squat proof. I’d say they’re about 80% of the way there, but I’m surprised since they’re a darker color, I’d expect for them to be 100% squat proof.
Especially when compared to some of the other lighter leggings like the Thistle and Ace being 100% squat proof, I was disappointed that these were a bit sheer when I did the squat test.
I would recommend wearing them with nude colored leggings that match your skintone. I tested them again with the Paragon cameltoe coverage thong (in the latte color) and they were 100% squat proof with that.
RecStretch Original Sculptseam Plus
The RecStretch Sculptseam Plus leggings are a step up from the original sculptseam when it comes to the scrunch bum and compression.
While the original sculptseam are best for low impact workouts, the RecStretch sculptseam plus are great for more high impact workouts. I personally love wearing these for strength training.
These leggings are really durable, while still being soft and stretchy. I will say they have less stretch than the Reluna original fabric.
When it comes to the original Sculptseam vs. Sculptseam Plus, they both enhance your glutes, but the Sculptseam Plus has extra scrunch bum and separation. With the original Sculptseam, there is no obvious scrunch bum, so it’s doing the work in a more lowkey way.
Personally, between the two, I prefer the original Sculptseam. I don’t love a lot of scrunch bum in leggings and prefer a more comfortable buttery soft legging. They’re both soft/comfy, I just find the original Reluna fabric to be moreso. It totally depends on what you’re looking for in a legging and your personal preferences!
For the RecStretch Sculptseam Plus leggings, I will be reviewing a pair, and having my friend Cassi review a pair.
Ace (M)
These leggings are really flattering and hug in all the right places. They’re still buttery soft and comfortable, even while having a bit more compression than the original Sculptseam.
The ace blue color is phenomenal and looks great when worn. I tested out if these are squat proof and was unsure what to expect, since they’re not especially light or dark leggings.
They are 100% squat proof, which I was thrilled to find out. I did the squat test with the Paragon cameltoe coverage thong (in the espresso color). If you’re looking for a thong with good coverage, I would highly recommend these from Paragon.
Black (2XL) (Cassi’s review!)
After wearing these leggings to do a leg day, I have to say, I’m impressed overall!
The leggings held up well throughout the workout and I didn’t have to mess with them too much. There were times I did have to flatten out the top because they were scrunching down a bit, but it wasn’t enough to really affect my workout.
I love how the material feels and it’s easy to move in. As a plus size girl, it can be hard to find workout clothes to feel good in and feel like they’re moving with me, but this set hit the spot.
The only thing I’m not a big fan of is the butt scrunch. The leggings are the kind I would use to work out at home, but for the gym and for going out on walks, it’s a bit too prominent for me.
Overall, I have nothing but great things to say about this collection.
