Do you ever go to the store and want a fruity drink that contains alcohol, but are overwhelmed with the options? Sometimes I can’t choose either! In this article, Erin and I will be discussing our favorite fruity drinks we like to consume on the regular! (But I promise we aren’t alcoholics ;))
What qualities do we look for in our fruity drinks?
Honestly….by qualities, what I mean is, is it a seltzer, beer, or cider. Lately this summer, I have been drinking mainly seltzer’s, ciders and cocktails. But what basic white girl hasn’t?? I’m personally not a huge fan of beer unless it has hints of sweet or a fruity flavor (like Naturday’s)!
I prefer those sweet boys that taste absolutely nothing like alcohol. Which can be the most dangerous kinds sometimes.
Mary here! Here are my fav fruity drinks:
I’m going to dive into a few of my favorite drinks that I hope never fade away. They are all pretty sugary, fruity drinks, but I hold them all close to my heart. Starting with the drinks I drink most often down to ones I still love, but drink less often.
The first 6 listed are going to be drinks you can buy at the store. AKA Easy peasy! 😉 The end of the list includes summer drink recipes that you can make at home.

1. Red’s Apple Ale
Not going to lie, I have drink this stuff since my first year of college. So say….6 years now? Time flies. I love this drink. the initial drink is a crisp apple flavor that goes down the throat hella smooth.
Comes in cans, aluminum pints, and glass bottles. They each have 5% of alcohol and come in 12 and 16oz. These bad boys are 165 calories though…which is mainly full of sugar. Not to mention they come in 8 flavors. My favorites being original, peach, mango, and blueberry.
I tend to start with these if I am going to a new bar or restaurant. Redd’s just seems like a welcoming drink to me. However, I can only drink a couple before I can hardly get over how sugary they are. But I highly recommend this crisp, fruity drink!
PS: If you want to indulge in yummy, sugary, fruity drinks, but still feel healthy & balanced overall… Try out our 30-day health & fitness challenge!
(I’m not saying you need to work out every time you want to drink, by any means. I just know I feel better and all-around more healthy when I’m staying active. And I’m betting a lot of you guys do too! :))
2. Mike’s Hard Lemonade
Who hasn’t drank at least one of these hard boys (pun intended!). Their slogan is “Drink on the Bright side” which I can 100% contend to. These fruity drinks have definitely made my day brighter on more than one occasion.
Mike’s lemonade is a 5% alc. malt beverage that through its filtering process makes it a natural gluten free drink. The drink comes in aluminum pints, cans, and glass bottles as well.
This beverage is 220 calories (WOW) and has 32g of sugar. They come in a shocking 12 flavors, but my favorites are black cherry, peach, strawberry (all time fav), and the original lemonade.
My living quarters have always had some kind of Mike’s beverage stored. I really fancy strawberry because I have had the best luck on dates with those (Idk why…just have lol). This brand is a great essential item to take on a vacation!!
3. High Noon
Who would’t want to drink these and become an instant member of the High Nooners club?!? There are some pretty great commercials about these drinks, and I stand behind them. They are an excellent flavored seltzer drink that I can’t wait to share with you.
High Noons are a 4.5% alc. sparkling water that are only 100 calories and also manage to be gluten free. This drink contains vodka that (believe it or not) is produced with the classic midwestern corn! WHAT. Go Midwest.
They distill the vodka a solid 5 times to get it the extra smooth taste. I’m really not complaining because it is bomb. High noon’s come in 4 flavors: Grapefruit, Black Cherry, Watermelon, and Pineapple. My favorite fruity drink flavor would have to be watermelon…..and pineapple. LOL I can’t choose.
High noons are semi affordable at a whopping $10 a box. A little high (Haha) for a 4 pack, but I 100% think they are worth it. Ya’ll I can’t stress enough that these are worth your summer time drinks.
4. Crook and Marker
I honestly don’t know what to call this guy. Is it a beer or a seltzer or what? My first impression was that it was a cider because it tasted so fruitful and smooth and crisp. But to my surprise, it’s being considered a sparkling beer….
From what I have found out is that it only has 4% alc. content, gluten and sugar free, and produced with organic alcohol. That means instead of using corn, they use quinoa, amaranth, millet and cassava root. SAY WHAT?! I honestly had no idea how clean these are.
For an alcoholic drink, they sure have gone to great lengths to make a great and clean beverage for everyone to enjoy. You wanna know what else? They come in a bazillion flavors and styles. Way too many to name here.
Just to name a few, they come in blackberry lime, coconut pineapple, mango, and strawberry lime. I definitely recommend coconut pineapple and blackberry lime. But if you like neither of those, they make well of over 20 different flavors.
5. Smirnoff Ice
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you ice someone and they don’t immediately chug it, you need to befriend them. I have been iced by Smirnoff friends for yeeeears, and I never not fall for it too.
Smirnoff Ice is a classic fruity drink that everyone drinks in the summertime (and sometimes in the winter) Smirnoff Ice became from the world famous vodka and became a second favorite by many people around the world.
This wild malt beverage contains 5% alc. To no surprise, they come in 18 flavors. Mine being twisted green apple, peach Bellini, watermelon, and raspberry burst.
This concludes my portion of the article. I am inviting Erin to put her favorites down below. I bet she has some really good choices ahead!
Erin here! These are my favorite fruity drinks:
Hi guys! Erin here. Now that Mary started us off with the first 5 yummy fruity drinks, I’m here to close out with #6-10! 🙂
6. Vizzy Hard Seltzer
If you’re a fan of White Claws or Truly’s, you’ve got to try Vizzys! They’re not only delicious, but they also have Vitamin C added. So you feel like you’re getting added nutrition & immune boosters while you’re drinking.
I’ve noticed personally that I get sick more often when I’m drinking regularly. So having an alcoholic beverage that has Vitamin C to boost my immune system is a win-win. It also is a seltzer so it’s low sugar and low calorie.
This way I feel like I can drink a few of them and not get that sugar buzz then crash an hour later! If you’re like me and fall asleep an hour after drinking a sugary pina colada, then you know what I’m talking about here!
These are the best of both worlds: tasty and healthy (healthy for an alcoholic beverage)! My favorite flavor is the blueberry pomegranate. But they also have flavors like mango pineapple, cherry lime, and strawberry kiwi.
Save Money When You Buy Vizzy’s!
Another awesome part about Vizzy’s is that you get 1,000 (!!!) points on the Fetch Rewards app when you scan your receipt! If you haven’t heard of Fetch Rewards yet, GET. IT. NOW.
You get points every time you scan any grocery receipt, simply for scanning it. Certain items you’ll get more points for, but you get points every single time! Then you can turn those points into gift cards for your favorite stores.
I always get Amazon gift cards with my points. And they add up so fast! Just for going to the grocery store like I regularly would anyways.
If you sign up for Fetch Rewards using my link, you get a free 2,000 points just for signing up! That’s $2 already in your pocket to contribute to future gift cards. And the best part is it’s completely free & no strings attached.
7. Margaritas (Not just your average margs, although those are awesome too!)
I love all margaritas, I don’t discriminate. But spicy margs are really where it’s at!
It’s a weird combination to think about: lime, tequila, and jalapeno?? But somehow it works so well!
There are a bunch of different recipes out there for spicy margaritas. Or you can get them at a lot of restaurants!
Here’s an awesome recipe for spicy mango margaritas that I found on Pinterest! If mango is not your thing, here’s a regular spicy margarita recipe as well. 🙂
No matter what recipe you choose, you’re in for a flavor explosion! Once you try it, you’ll never go back. 😉
8. Sangria
Not just your typical glass of wine or cocktail, but somewhat of a combo! A double whammy of alcoholic drinks.
If you’ve never had sangria, it’s an amazingly fruity mixture of wine, vodka, liqueur, and various fruits. It’s fruity, refreshing, and perfect for summer!
If you’re looking to switch up your typical sangria game… Try out this strawberry watermelon rosé sangria recipe from Recipe Runner! Or if watermelon is not your thing, check out these 10 summer white sangria recipes on FINDinista.
You can typically make a whole big jug at once. So sangrias are perfect for parties & get-togethers (when the world opens back up again). But they’re also amazing for hanging out on the porch reading a book!
9. Mojitos
Mojitos are a minty, fruity and refreshing combo all in one beverage! It’s a simple drink and oh so easy to make (over & over again). We love making them in a big pitcher because they save really well throughout the day/night!
These are perfect to have by the pool or just hanging out in your backyard. If you’ve never tried this minty, limey goodness, I would highly recommend you give them a try!
You can find an awesome recipe for a classic mojito right here, from Wine and Glue blog!
10. All the WINE (White wines and rosés for summer!)
Last, but DEFINITELY not least, my ride or die drink of choice: wine! White wine, red wine, and rosé; it just never gets old… There’s so many different varieties to try and I’ll never get sick of cracking open a new bottle.
I love all types of wine, but in the summer I tend to stick to white wine and rosés. Red wines are delicious in the winter, but a little too heavy for the warmer months (in my opinion).
Some of my favorite summer wines recently have been Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. I tried FirstLeaf recently and it was awesome! It’s a service that sends 6 bottles of wine to your doorstep (which I’m never mad about ;)).
It’s a little expensive for me budget-wise to stick with it… But I would highly recommend all my wine lovers to try it for a month! It got me out of my comfort zone and trying new types of wines from different regions. 🙂
PS: Pair your glass of wine with our delicious Baked Balsamic Chicken with Avocado! It goes amazing with a nice, crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Mmmmm.
& That’s All Folks!
These are only our select favorites of fruity drinks for the summer. There is still plenty more choices, but we highly recommend all of these bad boys listed above. Hope they help spice up your summer!!
