I’ve been addicted to this green smoothie for weeks now and the addiction is not letting up. It’s what I’ve been having for breakfast every day and it never gets old! This yummy smoothie is a beautiful balance of protein, vitamins & minerals, and healthy fats. But don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself!
My Daily *Secretly* Green Smoothie (with Vegan Protein)
I love making smoothies in the morning for breakfast because they’re so dang easy. It’s the best way I’ve found to make sure I’m getting a balanced breakfast with fruits, protein, and healthy fats (in under 5 minutes). I’m all about convenient health, so smoothies are ideal for me.
While I would love to eat a 5-course brunch of pancakes, bacon, a spread of fruit, yogurt, etc., for breakfast every morning… That’s just not always realistic. Especially on days I work my 9-5.
If you know me, you know I’m not a morning person. It takes me until 8 or 9 every morning (and after I’ve finished my coffee) to even be functional. 100% of the time I would rather be up late at night than up early in the morning.
That being said, if I have to get up at 6:30-7 a.m., to go to work, I’m definitely not going to be in the mood to cook a big breakfast. But if I skip breakfast, I know I’ll be hangry by the time mid-morning rolls around.
So, the perfect solution for this conundrum: smoothies!
Pro tip: they’re also perfect for a pre- or post-workout snack!

How to Make Green Smoothies that Actually Taste Good!
A question I get a lot when it comes to green smoothies is how to make them taste better (and not like straight spinach or kale). If you drink green smoothies on the regular, I’m sure you’ve already figured out a way to make them tastier. No one wants to drink blended up kale. 😝
The best way is to make sure you’re adding ingredients that will mask the flavor of the greens you add. The best way I’ve found to do this is to add a frozen banana!
This is not only good for adding natural sweetness and masking the flavor of the greens, but it also is a substitute for ice. I always add frozen banana, frozen blueberries, and sometimes other frozen fruits to my smoothies. That way, I don’t have to add any ice, and the thickness & consistency is perfect.
By using frozen fruit instead of ice, you also keep your smoothie from being watered down and losing flavor!
If you’re not a banana person, you can add other sweet fruits like mango, pineapple, or orange, instead. These fruits will help mask the flavor of the greens as well.
I also always add Orgain vegan vanilla protein powder to my smoothies (use code VITALITY for 30% off!). This is the most important ingredient in my opinion because it adds vanilla flavor and sweetness, without any added sugar. It also gives your smoothie a big protein boost, keeping you full for much longer!
My Vegan Protein Green Smoothie Recipe
It may not look green, but the spinach (and nutrients from the spinach) are definitely packed in there! When you make a smoothie with frozen blueberries, they kind of take over the color.
The ingredients you’ll need for this healthy smoothie are:
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 – 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
handful of spinach
1 scoop Orgain vegan vanilla protein powder (use code VITALITY for 30% off)
1 – 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
8 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk (less if you like your smoothies thicker)
I like my smoothies a little more liquidy, so I can drink them through a straw. But if you want this smoothie to be thicker (or to make it into a smoothie bowl) just use around 4-6 oz almond milk instead.
Directions:
Add all ingredients to your blender in the order they’re listed in the directions. If you want to add cinnamon to give it a little extra flavor, go for it! Blend on high until fully blended and no frozen chunks remain.
I’ve been using my Ninja Nutri Pro Personal Blender for everything lately and absolutely love it! It comes with an 18 oz and 24 oz blender, that turn into to-go cups.
It’s perfect for mornings that you’re in a rush before work. You just blend everything in one of the to-go cups, throw on the lid, and you’re out the door! It only takes a minute, which I definitely need in my mornings since I’m always running late.
& that’s all folks! I hope you enjoy this recipe and are able to incorporate it into your morning routines. 💛

I used to make smoothies regularly and kind of gotten out of the habit. This recipe looks so good. I think I’ll go back to making them again. Sound great for days I need to work early.

I make this exact same smoothie except I don’t always add the protein and I include strawberries and chia seeds. It is delicious and so nutritious.
