TODAY IS THE DAY! I wanted to write a quick update post about our move happening this weekend. 🙂 We’re not moving too far and we’ll still be in Tampa, but I’m still so excited for this move! Jeremy & I will be within walking distance from both of our jobs, 7th Avenue (which is a street full of restaurants, shops, bars, etc.), and just in an all-around more fun area! We’ll be living in Historic Ybor City, which I’ve posted about before (pt. 1 & pt. 2) and I can’t wait to tell you more about it. 🙂
Our Move to Ybor City (Tampa)
Besides being closer to work and all the fun things to do in Ybor City, we will also be within 10 minutes of downtown and closer to the beach. We’re renting a condo that has a pool & gym too, so we’ll have a lot to do at our place as well!
We lived in Brandon for the first year in Florida, which is basically a suburb (not sure what else to call it) of Tampa. It’s been a really nice area to live, but we wanted to: 1. not be driving 30+ minutes to/from work & 2. be closer to more people our age (for when things are back opened up & safe again).
Brandon was great, is super family-friendly, and we may end up moving back at some point down the road. But it just wasn’t right for the place we’re at in life right now, so we needed to make a move!
If anyone lives in the Tampa area and has suggestions for fun things to do, let me know! We’re still new to the area so we want to experience as many new places as we can. Especially as businesses start to open back up and go back to (semi-) normal, we’re excited to get out & about again!
We’re always looking for new beaches, restaurants, wineries, sports games (in the future), parks, and any other fun experiences.
We obviously aren’t able to do everything still and won’t feel comfortable going certain places until things get safer down here. (People wear your dang masks). But we have a list going of places we’d love to try in the future, which we’re always adding to!
The Best Part of Living in Ybor City?
The ROOSTERS!
They roam around town free (and so do their adorable chickies!) So we will definitely be spending days walking around looking at & befriending these cuties.
Overall, I’m so excited about this move & look forward to sharing more with you guys very soon!

- What’s one random fact about your city that not a lot of people know? (If you have roosters walking around your town too, please do share! ;))
- If you’ve ever been to the Tampa Bay area, what was one of the most fun things you did?
- Do you still live in the town you grew up in?

Oh I’m so excited for you! Cutting your commute down to a walk is AMAZING!!!!! What a difference it’ll make for you.
I grew up in Vancouver Canada and still live here! We don’t have roosters roaming around but if you REALLY wanted, you could golf, ski, and surf in one day. I mean it would be really ambitious but still doable!
I went to Tampa once and saw a hockey game there! The arena was so empty I couldn’t believe it!

Thank you so much!! I’m so excited about walking to work as well. 🙂 & golfing, skiing, and surfing in one day sounds incredible! I am up for the challenge if I ever find myself in Vancouver! & that’s awesome! I just went to my first Lightning game last year and it was so fun. You’ll have to let me know if you’re ever back in the area!
