If you’ve been reading our blog for a while now, you know we love to share our opinions on fitness apparel brands, Gymshark being one of our very favorites to review. When we saw Gymshark was launching camo and ombre shorts, leggings, etc., this past month, we knew we had to jump on it. We’re coming at ya today with our full & brutally honest Gymshark Adapt camo & ombre review!
Honest Gymshark Adapt Camo & Ombre Review
This review is not sponsored by or affiliated with Gymshark. We’re just sharing our honest opinions on the camo & ombré collections.
We bought a variety of pieces from Gymshark’s latest Camo and Ombre collections. A few of them we are absolutely obsessed with, and a few, not as much.
If you’d prefer to watch our Gymshark Adapt camo & ombre review instead of reading it, check out our videos below! We broke them up into 2 separate videos for both collections, for easier viewing.

Anywho, let’s get into the blog version of our review!
Black Adapt Camo Seamless Shorts
This was the only piece from either collection that I bought. Mary will share more about her camo and ombre purchases below. I also bought a new set of Gymshark scrunchies and a crop t-shirt in this haul, which I go into detail about in the camo video above.
As far as the black camo shorts go, I am absolutely in love. They’re so comfortable, flattering, and perfectly accentuate the bod.
I’m a sucker for black workout shorts and have been buying them like crazy this year. I fell in love with these camo shorts as soon as I saw them because not only are they black and will match with anything, but they have the cutest camo pattern as well (to switch things up from my 50 other pairs of black shorts.)
The camo is subtle, which is another thing I love about this collection. I’m not a big fan of the typical camo pattern on clothes, but the way Gymshark did it here is so flattering and pretty.
They’re also 100% squat-proof, which is essential when it comes to bike shorts. The last pair I bought from Gymshark was a light blue and was mostly squat-proof, but showed a lil sum sum. If you want to see that full review, check out our Vital Seamless 2.0 Review here! But these camo shorts show absolutely nothing through and I love them for it.
Would I buy these again? Abso-freaking-lutely. I want a pair in every color + the leggings.
As far as sizing goes, I went with my typical medium and it fits incredibly well. It hugs my waist and thighs perfectly, without any gap in the waist or being overly tight in the thighs (a definite plus for my body type.)
My only complaint with these, honestly, is that I didn’t buy more pairs in different colors. (This video is not sponsored so I’m not benefiting at all from hyping these up so much. I just genuinely love them.)
Green Adapt Camo Seamless Leggings
Mary here looking forward to discussing these wonderful purchases from the new Gymshark launch.
First up is this GORGEOUS olive green seamless legging. When I tell you I’m in love, it’s a HUGE understatement. Because if I could live in these leggings, I one thousand percent would….maybe even one million…
Like Erin said above, these boys are one of the comfiest things to wear. They are stretchy, decently soft, and very flexible on the limbs. Form-fitting with a butt scrunch to accentuate that nice booty of yours (nothing better than that).
Absolutely squat proof. Couldn’t show anything even if you wanted to. But they aren’t so tight or thin that they aren’t stretchy or comfortable. Now comparing it to the new Gymshark Vital Seamless 2.0 leggings, they come in second place on the stretchy scale. You can read more about that here to really see the differences in the different types of leggings.
Light Pink Adapt Camo Seamless Shorts
Wow, what a difference these shorts are compared to the leggings. Completely in my own opinion. I know Erin loved these, buuuuut I can’t completely say the same. I don’t hate them enough to return them, but they aren’t one of my top picks as to what I would wear on a daily basis.
Here is my reason why…they are too tight on me. As in I completely expected them to feel EXACTLY like the leggings in every way. And when I tell you I was pumped for these, and then moderately let down, I was fairly heartbroken.
The nitty-gritty is that they are tight in the thighs on me. I got my usual size which is a medium in both the leggings and shorts (typically), and this pair made me think I needed a large… I am not opposed to sizing up, don’t get me wrong. But I have NEVER sized up on their activewear, even when I was a bit thicker. They always just formed to me.
Now I’m not going to return them because they still worked for me. They weren’t so tight that I couldn’t breathe or that I needed to take them off. They rode up in the thighs and up the crotch a bit while I lifted and played Pickleball. Yet they didn’t entirely bother me to the point where I needed to change.
Don’t forget a lighter color will show cellulite, but honestly, the pattern mostly eliminates that. Not all the way, but really does a good job of flattering your skin and body type. This brand never fails to make you look good!
Purple Adapt Ombré Seamless Shorts
The color on these shorts is beyond this world. I wish for the life of me I could have gotten the matching sports bra because it would have been the most epic set of my current life (or until the next launch comes out).
I’m not keeping this pair, but not because of the style or the color. I made a clerical error as far as ordering my size. I got a small…a freaking small. My only thought process I can provide as to why is because I was thinking of the energy seamless collection. Why I thought another collection would be most similar to this one is beyond me, but I did, and here I am.
So they are predictably too tight. My little lambs literally couldn’t breathe. They were dying in a small. So here is your lesson to always go with your size. These weren’t very stretchy, yet they still were flattering. The color made me look tanner than I was. HUGE plus especially for the summer. Who can be down about that??
