I’ve been a fan of the Gymshark Adapt Camo collections for a while now. They’re, in my opinion, some of Gymshark’s best options. The only problem is they change them up with each launch, so you never know exactly what you’re going to get.
I wanted to try out the latest 2022 collection for y’all, to see if it stacks up with the rest. I’ll be testing out if they’re squat proof, if you should size up/ down /stay true to size, compression, comfort, and if they’re worth the price.
Gymshark Adapt Camo Review
We reviewed the last adapt camo collection last year and I absolutely loved those shorts. You can read our full review here if you’re interested!
Gymshark Adapt camo is always one of my favorite collections. I’ve been testing out a bunch of Gymshark clothes for the past couple of years (since we started Vitality Vixens.) I haven’t found anything that stacks up against the adapt camo yet.
However, the 2022 sports bras are an entirely different design and they always change it up some way from collection to collection. I’ll be getting to the bottom of how this launch stacks up against the rest in this blog.
If you’d rather watch the review (and try-on) instead of reading, check it out below! If you enjoy it, we have a bunch more where that came from over on our YouTube channel. 🙂
Gymshark Adapt Camo Seamless Shorts
I always love the Adapt shorts, so I had high hopes for these. I ordered a medium, which is always my size for bottoms.
They’re a little looser than other shorts I’ve bought from Gymshark, so it depends how you like your shorts to fit, whether you’ll size up or down. I think I would’ve been okay to get a small in these, based on how loose and stretchy they are. But I’m happy with the medium and will keep them! Just a little extra fabric in some places.
They have the ruched design on the side of the legs, which is super cute and flattering.
These shorts don’t have the scrunch bum, which I appreciate. I’m not typically a scrunch bum fan in terms of comfort. I think they look great, but don’t like the wedgie feeling.
I tested these out and they’re 100% squat proof! Always a necessity. I haven’t tried out any of the lighter colors, but these red ones are good to go. Perfect for leg day.
Gymshark Adapt Camo Seamless Sports Bra
This bra isn’t one of my favorites so far from Gymshark. I think the fit is kind of off, especially where it crosses over in the front. It’s not the most comfortable, in my opinion, where the criss-cross hits.
The sizing is also hit or miss. It’s pretty tight-fitting, especially in the back (for me.) I ordered a small at first because that’s what I typically buy in Gymshark bras, but it was too tight. I sent it back in exchange for a medium and that definitely fits better.
I’d say if you’re in between sizes, size up in this one.
I love how this bra looks and the design is really cute – it’s just not as flattering on the body, in my opinion. Basically, I like the idea of it, but not the execution.
The cherry brown color is really pretty and I’d love to see it in more pieces from Gymshark in the future.
This is a medium support sports bra, which I think is why it’s a little tighter than some of my other bras. In my experience, the thicker the material and the heavier compression, the tighter the bra will be. That’s not my cup of tea, but if that’s what you’re looking for, this bra would be a good fit!
It’s $45, which is a bit on the pricier end for sports bras. I wouldn’t personally spend that much on it again because this definitely isn’t my favorite sports bra. But it’s quality material and seems like it’ll hold up for a long time.
Were the pieces worth keeping?
For the shorts, 100% yes – they’re worth keeping and worth the price. They’re very comfortable, totally squat proof, and flattering (3 things I look for in workout shorts.) Perfect for leg days or any type of strength workout.
They’re high-quality material and I’ve always had a good experience with Adapt pieces lasting a long time. So I have high hopes for these to get a ton of use.
For the sports bra, I don’t really think it’s worth the price. I’m still going to keep it because it’s a decent sports bra and looks great with the shorts. However, I wouldn’t buy it again for $45.
Summary of the facts:
- Texture – Not buttery soft, but still comfortable. Thicker material with more compression.
- Color/Design – Accurate to the website. Cute camo design and nice color options! I love the cherry brown.
- Thickness – I’d give these an 8/10 for thickness
- Elasticity – Very stretchy, seemingly moreso than other Gymshark shorts. The sports bra is stretchy enough, as well, but not as much as the shorts.
- Sizing – The shorts I’d say stay true to size. If you’re in between sizes, you might be okay sizing down in these because they’re very stretchy. For the sports bra, if you’re in between sizes, size up. Very tight fitting because of the compression and support.
- Camel toe – Not an issue since they’re so thick
- Squat proof – 100% squat approved
- Srunch bum – No scrunch bum in these shorts
- Cost value – They’re both $45 each. I’d say the shorts are worth it because they’re some of the best from Gymshark. Adapt shorts and leggings are always top notch. In my opinion, this sports bra isn’t worth the money. The fit is a little off and it’s too snug in the back (for me.)
