Thinking of trying out some pieces from Gymshark’s latest Vital Seamless 2.0 collection? Maybe you’re on the hunt for a new pair of leggings, a sports bra, or a cute pair of workout shorts. Well, you’re in luck, because we tried them all out for this honest, unsponsored review! Let’s get right into the Vital Seamless 2.0 review.
Gymshark Vital Seamless 2.0 Review
I’ve tried pieces from Gymshark’s Vital 2.0 collection before. You can read Mary’s and my initial thoughts when we bought these a year back here.
After that first purchase, I’ve lived and learned on things like: picking the right size (Gymshark sizing can be finicky), cost value, squat proof status, and more. I’ll be covering all your burning questions in this Vital Seamless 2.0 review…
If you’d rather watch our full try-on and review of these shorts, leggings, and sports bras, check out the video review above! We go more in-depth on the sizing, squat proof status, and comfort level. You can also see how the pieces fit on different body types.
Vital Seamless 2.0 2-in-1 Shorts
Figuring out the fit of these shorts is a little hard to get just right. Typically, I’m a medium in all Gymshark shorts or leggings. But in these, the flowy outer portion of the shorts is really flowy and loose, so it throws off the look if it’s too big.
I bought a small and a medium to see which looked better and ended up liking the small way more.
However, the waistband is a little bit too tight since I sized down. When I’m standing up or working out, it feels fine. But as soon as I sit down or am bloated at all, it feels too tight.
The tightness in the leg area is surprisingly not too bad, but they’re a little tighter there if you have thicker thighs like me. They’re really pretty stretchy though, so that part doesn’t bother me a bit.
Sizing TL/DR
If you want your shorts to be tighter fitting, you can size down in these. The outer portion is pretty flowy so it looks better in a smaller size, in my opinion.
However, the waistband of these is pretty tight. So I’d stick with your typical size if you want to avoid that!
You can see my measurements (along with Mary’s) here to get a better idea of the fit on us compared to how it’ll fit on you.
Are they squat proof?
Yes, they are! Since the shorts are double-layered, I haven’t noticed a single problem with them being see-through, even for squats and deadlifts. This is really good to know ahead of time since a lot of lighter-colored bottoms (like this bright pink) end up being see-through and not squat-proof. With these shorts, it’s not an issue.
These shorts work great for lifting and, in my experience, walking or running too. But Mary mentioned they can be a little uncomfortable for sports (like pickleball) or high-intensity workouts because they do tend to ride up.
Vital Seamless 2.0 Sports Bra
When I first bought the Vital Seamless 2.0 sports bra about a year ago, I bought my typical size (a small). In the coming months, I noticed I hardly ever ended up grabbing for that sports bra when I hit the gym because the fit was just a little too tight.
This time around, I bought a medium and LOVE the fit. It’s a little on the tighter side, so it depends on how you like your sports bras to fit. The small was too tight in the lats/back area for me, but the medium sits just right with no bulge in that region.
The sports bra has removable pads and it looks great with or without them. I generally leave mine out because I hate removing them and putting them back in every time I wash my bras.
This bra is medium support and gives you full coverage with the pads in. It’s a little showier with the pads out, but a thick enough material that nothing is popping out too much.
The color is gorgeous and looks really nice with the shorts or the leggings!
Vital Seamless 2.0 Leggings
Mary bought the leggings, so I’ll summarize her thoughts on them here. If you want her full review, check out our video above! 🙂
The leggings are pretty comfy, soft(ish), and stretchy. They have a little extra stretch in the hip/pelvic area but are a little tighter in the ankle area. Also, tighter in the waist than other Gymshark leggings.
You might experience a little cameltoe action because of the fit and light color. It depends on how high up you pull the waist though.
These are a bit see-through due to the light pink color, but they still hold up well in lifting workouts.
Were these pieces worth keeping?
Absolutely! I’d say the biggest challenge with the Vital 2.0 collection overall is finding the right size. But with Gymshark, that can be a problem with a lot of their collections.
If you’re in between sizes, your best bet is to buy multiple sizes and return whichever one doesn’t fit as well. I’ve started doing this with most of my Gymshark orders because it can vary a lot in between collections.
Overall, these pieces are high quality, comfortable, and SUPER cute. They work great for lifting at the gym and steady-state cardio sessions.
If you’re buying these for HIIT workouts or certain sports, I wouldn’t recommend them. As Mary explained, the shorts ride up a bit when you’re moving around quickly and can get uncomfy.
What do they cost?
- Leggings: $50
- Shorts: $44
- Sports bra: $35
Summary of the facts:
- Texture – Not buttery-soft, but still a soft(ish) comfortable material
- Color/Design – Bubble gum pink. Bright, colorful, and super cute. The purple color is a pretty lilac color as well! Both are very flattering
- Thickness – I’d give these about a 5/10 on the thickness scale. Not too thin but definitely not overly thick either
- Elasticity – A good amount of stretch, but still can feel a little tight in the waist area
- Camel toe – Might be an issue for the leggings due to the lighter color, but it also depends how high up you wear your leggings
- Squat proof – 100% squat approved for the shorts. For the leggings, they’re a bit lighter and slightly more see-through, but they still hold up just fine in the gym
- Scrunch bum – None
- Cost value – Pretty comparable to other brands, similar collections, and on par for the quality
