We’re back at it again with another Gymshark review! Honestly, Gymshark should sponsor us at this point because we do so much free PR for them with these reviews… Whatever, a girl can dream. 😉 Today, I’ll be reviewing some leggings, sweatshirts, hoodies, (a ton of) shorts, and sports bras. As always, my opinions will be brutally honest and I’m not holding back with anything in this 2024 Gymshark review.
2024 Gymshark Review
A bunch of these pieces were from Gymshark’s annual sale (bi-annual? I forget…) So I ended up spending a lot less than you normally would on some of these, which is always a win! If you’re new to Gymshark and unsure about trying anything out from them, I’d highly recommend buying a few pieces during their sales, because the discounts are honestly great.
A few of the main topics I’ll be covering in this review:
- Sizing/fit (I bounce between 2 sizes with Gymshark so this is always a hit-or-miss issue)
- How they hold up in workouts
- Do they match how they looked online? (color, fit, etc.)
- Are the leggings squat-proof?
So without further ado, let’s get right into the review!
Leggings
Gymshark Sweat Seamless Leggings – Evening Blue (S)
- Sizing/fit: I’m normally in between sizes in Gymshark leggings and decided to size down in these because of what it said on the website. Honestly, I would not recommend sizing down in these, even if you’re in between sizes. I barely ever end up wearing these because they’re too tight pretty much everywhere (waist, thighs, hips, etc.) I would buy your size (or size up if you’re in between sizes.)
- How they hold up in workouts: These hold up well in workouts! They stay in place and are overall comfortable to do any type of workout in.
- Do they match how they looked online? These look exactly like the color from the pictures on Gymshark’s website. The evening blue is a beautiful subtle faded blue, which I love!
- Are the leggings squat-proof? Yes.
Sweatshirts & Hoodies
Gymshark Training Oversized Fleece Hoodie – Washed Mauve (S)
- Sizing/fit: This is an oversized fit, so you can get away with sizing down if you want a more traditional fit. I bought my normal size (small) and it’s oversized and incredibly comfortable! I wear this around the house and out and about (on walks, hikes, etc.) all the time and love it. If you want a comfy hoodie, I’d highly recommend this one.
- How they hold up in workouts: I don’t often wear this to work out because I run hot in workouts and don’t want a hoodie. However, it works great for outdoor walks or hikes when it’s a little colder outside. The material is pretty thick and comfortable, so if you want to wear this to work out, you’ll have no issues.
- Do they match how they looked online? Not exactly. I don’t see the washed mauve hoodie online anymore, but if you search “washed mauve” and see the other women’s pieces that pull up (sports bras, etc.) you’ll see that it looks much lighter online. I still love the darker mauve color a lot, but I would have preferred the lighter mauve shown in the photos on Gymshark’s website.
Gymshark Training Cropped Sweater – Dusty Maroon (S)
- Sizing/fit: The fit is great! It’s a traditional cropped fit, not oversized at all. You can stay true to size, or size up if you want a bit more of an oversized feel.
- How they hold up in workouts: I don’t wear this often to work out, because like I mentioned, I run hot and don’t need a sweatshirt for exercise. But the few times I’ve worn it for workouts or walks, it works great. It’s comfortable and stays in place when you move around.
- Do they match how they looked online? This color is no longer available online, but from what I can remember when I received it, it looked like what I expected, maybe a little darker in person than what was shown online.
Shorts
Gymshark Woven Pocket Shorts (S) – Denim Teal, Black, Chocolate Brown
- Sizing/fit: These are loose-fitting shorts and you can get away with sizing down. I’m in between a small and a medium with Gymshark. I bought a small in all 3 colors and it’s the perfect fit. I wear these all the time, they’re so comfy, and I absolutely love them!
- How they hold up in workouts: I don’t often wear these for strength training. They’re loose and don’t have any spandex underneath, so I feel like my butt would be hanging out if I tried to do squats, deadlifts, etc… They’re great for walking or lounging around the house! I’ve also worn them on runs a few times and they were great for that as well. So I’d say, they’re more of a lounge and/or cardio short.
- Do they match how they looked online? The black and teal are exactly as expected. The chocolate brown is a little more maroon-looking in person, but pretty close to the online coloring.
Gymshark Training Sweat Shorts – Maya Blue (mint green…) (S)
- Sizing/fit: These are very short but baggy shorts. I bought them in a small and believe a medium would’ve been too baggy, but I would’ve liked a little extra length. So it’s up to you how you want them to fit! I’d say stay true to size.
- How they hold up in workouts: I do not work out in these. Even on walks, I get a little uncomfortable, because it feels like my butt is hanging out the back and I constantly am pulling them down. They ride up. If you want a comfy pair of shorts to wear around the house, I’d recommend these. Not for workouts.
- Do they match how they looked online? The color is exactly how it looks online. However, the color name is a little misleading in my opinion, because these are more of a slightly turquoise mint green than a blue. As for the material, they’re more of a sweatpant material and wrinkle quite easily — which you wouldn’t notice from the photos online.
Sports Bras
Gymshark Longline Sports Bra – Truffle Brown (S)
- Sizing/fit: Gymshark’s sports bras have been the hardest for me to pinpoint a size. I swear every time I buy a small, I wish I’d bought a medium, but every time I buy a medium, I wish I’d bought a small. They normally run pretty tight and have heavy compression. This causes it to be too tight in the back area for my personal preference. If you don’t mind a tight-fitting, compression-heavy sports bra, you’ll like this. I’d say buy your size in this one. If you’re in between sizes, it depends on what type of fit you like. If you like it to be tight/form-fitted, size down. If you want a little more room to breathe, size up.
- How they hold up in workouts: Great! I’ve worn this for lifting and running and it holds up great in both workouts. Everything stays in place.
- Do they match how they looked online? It’s a bit warmer colored brown than it looks online. Not very far off though. It’s a very pretty color!
