Oner Active is a brand I’ve been wanting to review forever now. I always see Krissy Cela’s posts in the cute leggings, shorts, and tops, and had been dying to try out some of these pieces for myself. In this honest Oner Active review, I’ll be diving into the good and the bad when it comes to these activewear pieces.
Oner Active Review
If you haven’t heard of Oner Active, it’s a new(ish) women’s activewear brand created by Krissy Cela.
Krissy Cela is a YouTuber, businesswoman, and training coach. I’ve followed her YouTube and Instagram for a while now and love her empowering content. She’s a great example for women of being strong/powerful while being vulnerable and authentic at the same time.
A while back, I decided to try out some pieces from her activewear brand, Oner Active.
The first thing I noticed was how high quality the clothes were compared to other similar-priced brands I’ve shopped from. But first impressions don’t always tell the full story. I’ve been testing out these pieces for about a year now, and exercising in them, to figure out the pros and cons.
I’ve recently bought a few newer pieces to compare the quality of this latest launch with the old pieces I have from Oner.
For example, I bought a pair of joggers about a year ago and have been wearing them nonstop. In this new launch, I bought 2 new pairs of joggers, to see if they are as great as the first pair.
In this Oner Active review, I’m going to be breaking down the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to these pieces.
I’ll cover the following categories:
- Sizing/fit
- Are the leggings squat-proof?
- Comfort
- Do the clothes match how they looked online? (Color, etc.)
- How they hold up in workouts
The opinions in this Oner Active review are my 100% honest thoughts and are not sponsored by/affiliated with the brand in any way.
Let’s get into it!
Leggings
Effortless Seamless Leggings (Minky) (M – short)
- Sizing/fit: I bought a medium in these leggings which is normally my size in bottoms. They fit great! They’re form-fitted but with plenty of stretch and room to move around without falling/riding down. I’d say buy your normal size in these leggings, they’re true-to-size. I love that they have multiple lengths as well! I bought the short (I’m 5’3) and the length is perfect.
- Are the leggings squat-proof? Yes! This color is 100% squat-proof. I tried a cream color…which I’ll get into near the end of this review, but they were not so much.
- Comfort: These leggings are so comfy! They’re somewhere in between a buttery soft feel, and a traditional compression legging feel. They hold everything in while still being super soft and stretchy enough. Honestly, that’s my ideal fit for leggings, because you’re comfy while still knowing everything’s held in place during actual workouts!
- Do the clothes match how they looked online? (Color, etc.) — Yes! The color/fit looks exactly as you’d expect from the photos online.
- How they hold up in workouts: Incredible. I’ve worn these for plenty of leg days (and some upper body) and they hold up perfectly. They stay in place and move with you during your workouts.
Joggers
Classic Jogger (Sage) (S)
These joggers were part of my first Oner Active order and are what made me fall in love with this brand.
They’re seriously the comfiest sweatpants I’ve ever put on my body. Normally I find joggers from activewear brands to be…not the comfiest. They’re often too tight, uncomfortable material, too thick (or thin), and just overall not great quality.
These classic joggers are the opposite in every way. They’re incredibly comfortable and soft even after *a million* wears/washes. (Okay, a million might be a bit of an exaggeration… But I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve worn these at least once a week since buying them.)
They’re a thicker material, but not too thick to make you feel overheated. The quality is incredible in every aspect. They haven’t shown any signs of wear by this point and still look brand new.
Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate the sage color?!? Like what in the world, I’ve never seen a prettier faded green. I love it!
- Sizing/fit: I bought these in a Small, even though I’m normally a Medium in Oner’s leggings. The small fits perfectly because these are more loose-fitting joggers. If you’re in between sizes, you can size down in these joggers.
- Do the clothes match how they looked online? Yes. The sage green looks exactly as you’d expect, as well as the material, quality, and fit.
- How they hold up in workouts: I don’t often wear these to work out, I generally just wear them around the house or out on walks. They hold up great in walks and I’m sure would be fine in workouts. That being said, I’ve worn the charcoal pair of joggers (below) to the gym quite a few times and I’ll get more into that in a second!
Oh, a bonus of the Classic Joggers is that they have zip-up pockets on both sides! This is uncommon for most joggers I’ve bought in the past and is really convenient for walks.
All Day Jogger (vintage purple and coal) (S)
Not gonna lie, when I saw these joggers on Oner’s newest launch, I thought they were the exact same joggers I already have (the Classic jogger) in different colors, which is why I bought two pairs. In the future, I’ll be more diligent about actually reading the names of products before buying them. 😉
While these ones aren’t as mind-blowingly comfy as the Classic joggers, they’re still great in their own way!
- Sizing/fit: These fit exactly the same as the Classic joggers in my opinion. You can size down and still have plenty of room and be super comfy.
- Comfort: These are super comfy! They’re not as perfectly soft of material as the Classic jogger (think more of a super soft towel as compared to a super soft blanket…) But they’re still incredibly comfortable and I wear them all the time around the house and on walks. I even wear them to sleep, which is saying something about how comfy these joggers are.
- Do the clothes match how they looked online? (Color, etc.) — Yes, these look exactly as I’d expected.
- How they hold up in workouts: These hold up well! They’re a little bit lighter feeling of material than the Classic jogger, so I feel they’re easier to wear for workouts without getting overheated. They have a tie on the waist so they stay in place well.
Edit: I noticed after wearing these for a while that they actually do have a little zippered pocket in the right side! It’s inside the normal pocket, which is really nice and convenient for keys, etc.
Sports Bras
Everyday Sports Bra (vintage purple) (s)
- Sizing/fit: This fits well! It’s form-fitted so it holds everything in place. It has removable pads as well. I’m generally in between a Small and Medium with sports bras and bought this in a Small. I honestly feel like I could’ve gone either way. The small fits well but it’s form-fitted for sure. So it depends on how tight you want your sports bra to fit for your sizing preference. I’d say stay true to size overall.
- Comfort: Very comfortable! The material is soft and smooth. It doesn’t feel way too tight in the back/shoulders area like some sports bras but still keeps everything held in.
- Do the clothes match how they looked online? (Color, etc.) — Yes! The vintage purple color is gorgeous in person and just how I expected. I’m obsessed!
- How they hold up in workouts: Great! I’ve worn this bra for both strength training and running and it holds up perfectly for both.
Tops
Classic Lifters Graphic Oversized Lightweight T-Shirt (light grey marl) (s)
My husband likes to make fun of me for buying oversized t-shirts and sweatshirts, but guys… When I tell you this is the comfiest oversized shirt I’ve ever put on my body, I’m not kidding.
I don’t know how Oner Active does it but the material of this t-shirt is incredible. It’s super soft and the material is thin enough to be breathable during a workout.
I wear this t-shirt for strength training, runs, walks, and around the house. There’s really nothing you can’t do in it. And it’s really cute and minimalistic, which I love!
For sizing, I’m normally a Small in tops and bought a Small in this. It’s definitely an oversized fit and gives you a lot of room, without being too oversized where it falls off you. I’d recommend buying your normal size in this if you want an oversized fit. If you want it to be slightly form-fitted, size down 1 or 2 sizes.
The color, fit, and wording look exactly how I’d expect from the online photos. 10/10
Mellow soft vest (sage) (S)
If you couldn’t already tell how much I love the sage green color from my joggers review, the fact that I bought a tank top in this color too definitely gives it away!
- Sizing/fit: I bought a Small in this and am a little torn. It fits well but is a little more form-fitted than I normally like. This is just a personal preference for me because you can tell it’s going to be form-fitted from the website. So I should’ve considered sizing up if I wanted a looser fit. If you like a tight-fitted tank, buy your normal size. If you want it to be a little more flowy, size up.
- Comfort: This tank top is a thin, soft, comfortable material. It moves with you and is very stretchy.
- Do the clothes match how they looked online? Yes, this looks exactly how I’d expected from the photos.
- How they hold up in workouts: Great! It’s comfy, moves with you, doesn’t ride up, and stays in place well. I’ve worn this for cardio and strength training and it holds up well for both!
Jackets
Timeless Jacket (Deep Taupe) (S)
- Sizing/fit: I bought this in a Small which is normally my size for jackets/sweatshirts. Honestly, I’d prefer a medium in this. It’s meant to be a form-fitted jacket though, so that’s my fault for buying it in my normal size. If you want a form-fitted jacket, stay true to size, this fits as intended. But if you want a slightly looser jacket, size up.
- Comfort: It’s very comfortable. It’s a smooth, soft, thin material. This is not a winter jacket by any means, it’s pretty thin.
- Do the clothes match how they looked online? (Color, etc.) — Yes! It looks exactly as expected from the photos.
- How this holds up in workouts: I’ve only worn this on runs because I don’t need a jacket at the gym. It works great for runs! It’s convenient because it’s easy to remove and put back on during runs. As my runner friends know, you get overheated quickly when you’re running, so it’s nice to have a thin jacket to take on and off.
Items I returned…
Timeless High-Waisted Leggings (Sand) (S)
I had a few issues with these light-colored leggings. First of all, the sizing calculator on the website calculated me to be a size Small in leggings. Since I ordered these with my first ever Oner Active order, I went with the sizing calculator’s recommendation.
I am not a Small in these leggings. They were technically wearable, but way too tight and uncomfortable for me to ever actually want to wear. I learned my lesson and bought mediums going forward.
Luckily Oner Active has a great return policy so I’ve had no issue with returning items and getting a new size. If you’re in between sizes generally, I’d recommend buying both sizes the first time you order, and sending the size that doesn’t fit back. Then you’ll know for the future and won’t have to worry about it.
The other issue with these leggings was that the sand color was completely see-through. Not squat proof at all and you could see through them even just standing there.
I’m sure this was partially because they were the wrong size. But I can’t imagine that light of color would be squat-proof under any circumstances.
Oner Active Review: In Conclusion
Overall, I’m incredibly impressed by the quality, comfort, and functionality of Oner Active’s pieces. I’m looking forward to trying even more clothes from them, specifically a sweatshirt and SHORTS. Oner Active, if you’re reading this (you’re probably not, but…) PLEASE restock the Vintage Purple shorts. I’m BEGGING you.
As soon as I get my hands on those shorts and a sweatshirt, I’ll be back with another review, so don’t go far. 😉
