So, let’s get right into it!
Paragon Review *part 2*
To see part 1 of our 2024 Paragon review series, check it out here! In part 1, we covered the Daydream, Wavelength (Paragon x DesB), and Form collections.
In this review, we’ll be sharing our opinions on pieces from Paragon’s latest Prism and Wild launches. We’ll be reviewing leggings, shorts, sports bras, and crop tops.
These collections include both the Reluna fabric and the RecStretch.
None of our photos below have been edited/filtered, so you can see what the different colors look like in natural light! 🙂
Paragon was so kind to send us these pieces from their newest launches to try out. Thank you so much, Paragon! While these pieces were gifted to us, this review itself is not sponsored, and all the thoughts shared here are our 100% honest opinions.
Wild Review
Wild is Paragon’s animal print collection in beautiful neutrals. Mary and I both chose the dark brown and dark grey options, but this launch also features black, white, and tan animal prints.
Featured in this collection are leggings (crossover and traditional), sports bras, and “bramis” (crop tops).
Erin’s Version
Reluna Original Sculptseam Legging (Savana) (m)
Pros:
- The material, like always, is buttery soft, and incredibly comfortable!
- You can wear these around the house, to work out, or out and about. They’re very versatile.
- I love the deep brown color and the animal print. I’m not normally an animal print girly and often think it can look tacky… But Paragon’s animal print looks beautiful and on the more subtle side. Also, the neutral colorways are incredible.
- These hold up in workouts so well! I’ve worn them for both strength training and running and they worked great for both.
- 100% squat proof
Cons:
- Overall, I love these leggings and don’t have much to say here. But you do have to adjust them a bit during workouts (I end up pulling them up at the waist quite a bit) because of the buttery soft material.
Sizing: True to size. I’m always a medium in leggings/shorts and these fit great. You could get away with sizing down if you want a tighter fit.
Reluna Legacy Brami (Savana) (S)
Pros:
- The deep brown color and animal print are gorgeous!
- This has a buttery soft material and is incredibly comfortable.
- I love the fit! Paragon’s crop tops are amazing and have enough coverage to be comfortable during workouts while being cute.
- The removable pads are great in this top. I normally remove them, but I kept them in with this top because they look natural and flattering.
Cons: N/A — I have nothing critical to say about this top, it’s great.
Sizing: I’m between a small and medium in tops, and bought a small in this. I love the fit! It has a lot of stretch so if you’re in between sizes you can size down.
Mary’s Version
Hello besties!! Long time no talk! I’m back, refreshed, and ready to give over the deets on Paragon’s latest collection! Frankly, I’m in love with this company. That’s not to say that I love absolutely everything they offer, but the majority of the time, when it comes to picking out leggings, I’m reaching for Paragon. Let’s not waste anymore time jibber-jabbing, let’s get down to business reviewing these pieces!!
Reluna Crossover Sculptseam Legging (Savana) (M)
Pros:
- VERY stretchy. Love a good legging that stretches to the different times of the month (or the different stages of life).
- The color is absolutely stunning. Not overly obnoxious with the animal print.
- Buttery soft gals. Like, I could touch it all day.
- Length comes just above the ankle bone, and could lay just below the belly button, OR, could be pulled up past the belly button depending on comfort.
- Definitely gave me butt accentuation just after being put on. Got more pronounced as the workout went one. YET, no cameltoe, no matter how hard the seam is in your rear.
- The crossover detail is ELITE. I actually highly approve of this! I LOVED how this laid just bellow/on my belly button
Cons:
- Because they are so stretchy, they may have extra fabric around the ankles and knees. I personally don’t love extra fabric around the knees. It bothers me a bit, so I’m pulling at them a bit more during my workouts.
- I have ran and played pickle ball in this pair. They don’t love to stay around the waist. Maybe I have too big of a size, but I felt like I was grabbing for them to yank up, more than other pairs of leggings.
- The crossover detail is literally so good. Just know that when you’re bloated, it may accentuate it more than usual just by how it lays on the bod. Just love yourself and have no fear. You’re going to look fire!
Reluna Ritual Bra (Savana) (M)
Pros:
- Um, she’s beautifully made guys. I am in love with her low-key.
- So freaking comfortable. It’s hard to find straps that don’t obscenely press on your traps.
- Have I mentioned how soft it is? Buttery soft in fact. Just like the leggings.
- YOU NEED THIS BRA. That is all.
Cons:
- Honestly nothing significant. I might have been able to size down, as it felt a touch loose around the boobs area. I only say that because I needed to pull it up during sprints.
- Mild to moderate support depending on boob size.
Reluna Back Day Bra (Grey Tiger) (M)
Pros:
- The print is adorable.
- The texture is super soft, per usual.
- The style is out of my comfort zone. Wild right?? Most gym girlies love the behind the neck, open back style. I can report and say that my back felt hella sexy in it. Probably more so since nothing restricted the muscles from being exposed.
Cons:
- Alright listen…I high-key didn’t love this bra. No one come for me. I am who I am.
- I have a hard time with straps behind my neck. The comfort of it is not there for me. It’s not because I have big boobs or anything like that. They are average sized in my opinion. Just the constant tension behind my neck was hard to get over.
- I may have needed a smaller size here as well. The fabric is stretchy enough that I was concerned for my left boob popping out during my stretches. I had to place my sweatshirt over my chest to make sure I didn’t have any slips.
- That being said, I had to run with my sweatshirt on because it sure just did NOT hold up.
- Needless to say, it is very mild support for cardio activities or exercises with a lot of movements.
Reluna Original Sculptseam Legging (Grey Tiger) (M)
Have no fear besties, this pair of leggings is the exact same in every way as the brown pair described above, except it does not have the crossover detail. With that being said, it may give a touch more waist support than the crossover detail. Otherwise, I have nothing new to report for the pros and cons!
Prism Review
Prism is Paragon’s cool pastel collection (it’s giving Lover vibes…) full of leggings, shorts, sports bras, and crop tops. The colors are gorgeous and meant to serve as a “transition from winter to spring”, but I think these colors can (and should) be worn year-round.
Both the Reluna and RecStretch fabrics are featured in this collection. We both chose all RecStretch pieces from this particular collection since we loaded up on Reluna with the Wild launch. Both fabrics are amazing in their own way.
Erin’s Version (crescent moon)
RecStretch™ Levitate Sculptseam Plus™ Short (Crescent Moon) (M)
Pros:
- The color of these shorts is to die for!! I love sky blue and this one is absolutely perfect. So flattering and a stunning color.
- The material is so comfortable and buttery soft. You feel like you’re wearing nothing, basically, it feels like a second skin.
- Speaking of comfort, I wear these around the house all the time, it’s like wearing sweats or another really comfy piece. This is important for me because I value comfort >>> everything.
- The fit is so flattering. It hugs your curves and just looks incredible overall.
- I actually love the scrunch bum. You’ll know from previous reviews that I’m very skeptical about scrunch bum shorts or leggings because they normally give you a 24/7 wedgie. But these give you a little booty boost without being uncomfortable or super obvious. It’s a nice subtle scrunch!
Cons:
- These shorts (in the crescent moon color) are not 100% squat-proof. You can see the underwear lines and the color shows through a bit.
- They might ride up when you’re working out, depending on your body type. For me, I can’t wear these shorts on leg days because I have to pull them down constantly. If you carry more weight in your butt/thighs, you’ll probably have the same problem. I normally just wear these for walks or upper body days.
Sizing: I bought my normal size in these. They’re true to size. These have a 5″ inseam.
RecStretch™ Classic Crop (Crescent Moon) (M)
Pros:
- Again, the color of this crop top is stunning! You can’t go wrong with the look of this matching set, the light blue is perfection.
- The material is so comfortable and the fit is great! I love the high-cut neckline, it’s very flattering and comfortable to work out in.
- This style is comfy to wear either around the house or to work out. The buttery soft material makes it cozy enough to lounge around in, but it also has the perfect amount of hold and coverage to work out in.
- It has a built-in bra! I love a built-in bra crop top because you don’t have to worry about wearing a sports bra.
Cons:
- In the top I got, the removable pads were all smashed, so I had to take them out. This isn’t a big deal because I normally end up removing the pads anyway, but the light color/material makes it a bit see-through/nipply.
Sizing: I’m between a small and medium in tops and bought a medium in this. It fits perfectly! If you want a tighter fit, buy your size or size down, but if you like a little more room/comfort like me, size up.
Mary’s Version
RecStretch™ Levitate Sculptseam Plus™ Short (Galaxy and horizon) (M)
Ya’ll….the color scheme of this collection is on another level. I literally couldn’t just choose one color from each to receive. I HAD NO CHOICE as my eyes could not stray away. This collection is too good. They will steal your money. That being said, I’ll dive right into it once more.
Pros:
- I truly make sure to try and grab color I don’t already own. Some tend to be out of my comfort zone and some are my favorite colors. This time the deep blue color of Galaxy is so rich, but not typically a color I grab for all the time. Where as the Horizon purple isn’t a color in my pallet, but a favorite I can’t stray away from no matter how many I own.
- The fit is a bit more compressive than I’m used to. I own the sculpt-steam original in black and it feels a bit less compressive than these. They hug you in the waist, but not so much that it makes you feel like you have a pooch or that your sides overcome the band. The seam seems (lol) more snug in the thighs, but I just let it naturally ride up. They don’t roll either which I find a lovely feature.
- The butt scrunch is DEFINITELY a scrunch. just after wearing them for a few minutes, my butt crack sucked in the shorts LOL. Graphic I know, but it’s the truth.
- Texture is soft, but that spandex compressive feel. Soft, but too soft…if ya know what I mean.
Cons:
- Where the fit is concerned, I probably could have sized up for a looser fit. I am usually a size medium in Paragon leggings and shorts, but some times the different materials makes it more restrictive, and therefore tighter. I hav had to size up before.
- I have never said this before, BUT I actually disliked the butt scrunch PURELY because it was literally in my crack 24/7 and made me uncomfortable. I can’t believe I’m even saying that tbh because I love a good butt scrunch. However, I felt myself tugging out the seam like a bad wedgie. Some people love it deep and invading…all the power to ya homies. I was bothered and made a mental note to wear a longer t shirt with them the next time. Maybe I should just be grateful of a big butt game, or maybe consider sizing up haha.
RecStretch™ Levitate Sculptseam Plus™ Legging (Violet Sky) (M)
I literally swore to myself to only buy the original sculpt-steam leggings because it’s what fits best. When I laid my hazel eyes on these colors, I just couldn’t say no. I had to have it.
Pros:
- THE COLOR IS LITERALLY MOUTH WATERING.
- I freaking felt like a greek goddess in these. The comfort level of them was fire guys. I literally remember having the best leg and arm day. I might buy another.
- Different details than the collection above. The seam on the waist comes with a double banded seam, about an inch apart from the other. Honestly didn’t notice a difference in performance with it there. I didn’t bother with pulling them up. So I reckon they stayed in place nicely.
- The compression is similar to the shorts. Directed more to the athlete with a slight compression. I did sprints in these as well and didn’t notice any discomfort.
- Squat proof 100%.
Cons:
- The color is lighter which means it may show your cellulite more. Who cares, honestly. Let the haters hate. Wear what you love and F everyone else!
- Hugs the waist a touch more with the light compression.
RecStretch Legend Brami (Galaxy) (S)
Pros:
- Comfort of this brami is pretty dang good. I felt secured enough to do some pickle ball for my cardio. I didn’t have to worry about what my girls were doing.
- Texture is buttery soft too! Not like the spandex soft on the shorts or the leggings in this collection (IMO). Love anything that is buttery soft.
- The placement of the strap in the middle of the back is flattering and supportive during my lifts. The strap comes over the traps and doesn’t bother them at all either.
- I left one of my boob pads in (on the right for some obvious reasons being that it’s smaller. not ashamed to say it, we’re built different), and it didn’t make it obvious that it was still in. just so everyone knows in case they have the same situation!!
- I’m glad I got a small in this tbh, because it’s been a toss up as of late, on whether bras will be big or not. Worth it to size down!
Cons:
- Due to the fact that I didn’t have to worry about my girls popping out, it didn’t feel great that they were flopping around on their own lol. Mild to moderate support.
- Otherwise, that’s it! Nothing else to note!
