I reviewed Cuts for the first time last year after trying out a few of their t-shirts. If you missed that, you can check it out here! This time around, I bought a couple more crop tees, a full-length tee, and a pair of fleece shorts. In this unsponsored & honest Cuts Clothing review, I’ll be covering the pros and cons of this brand.
Honest Cuts Clothing Review
In this review, I’ll be sharing my thoughts on the following pieces:
- Tomboy Tee
- Tomboy Tee Cropped
- Cloud-Fleece Shorts
- Coreflex Racerback Tank
Tomboy Tee Cropped (Ash and Heather Grey)
I bought two more of the cropped Tomboy tees because I love them so much! They fit great, have just enough stretch, and are super comfortable and high quality.
I went for the ash and heather grey because I wanted these tees in a couple more neutral colors to pair with anything. These are perfect for underneath a flannel or jacket, or worn on their own with high-waisted shorts or jeans.
Sizing: I’m normally a Small in most tees (sometimes a Medium, but not as often), and these fit great! They’re true to size in my experience. They are a form-fitted shirt, so if you want a bit of a looser fit, size up.
Tomboy Tee (Ballet)
This is a form-fitted traditional tee in a dusty rose color. I absolutely love the color and fit of the tomboy tee! I reviewed another color in my first review and love both of them. You really can’t go wrong with these tomboy tees.
This is a comfortable material with just enough stretch. It’s high-quality fabric and stitching and holds up for a long time in my experience.
Sizing: Same as above with the cropped tees!
Cloud-Fleece Shorts (Wolf)
These shorts are super cute and comfy, but as you can see, are a bit too big for me. I’m almost always a medium in shorts/pants, but these run large for sure.
They’re a soft thick fleece material. These are more for lounging around the house, definitely not for workouts or going outside on a hot day. The material is too thick and warm for that.
They have an interior tie and pockets on both sides. The color is really nice and looks as you’d expect from the website.
I’d buy these again in a smaller size. Unless you want an oversized fit, I’d recommend sizing down in these shorts.
They do wrinkle fairly easily, so be prepared to steam them if you want them to look nicer. I generally just wear them around the house so it doesn’t bother me.
Coreflex Racerback Tank (Ocean Storm)
In my first Cuts review, I bought the Coreflex racerback tank in a small and the fit was a bit too tight. So this time around, I bought it in a medium hoping it’d fit better.
The medium was unfortunately too big. This tank might just not be for me because I need an in-between size and neither one was wearable (for the price anyway). It’s a thicker material and meant to be fitted, so the medium hung weirdly on my body and looked terrible.
I don’t have a picture on me because I ended up selling this on Poshmark. But I’d say with this tank, if you’re in between sizes generally, you might have a hard time finding the right fit with this one. If you’re always one specific size, you may have an easier time than me with the fit!
Overall, the color, ribbed material, and quality of these tanks are incredible. It’s a thicker material so keep that in mind, definitely not for a hot Florida day. You could easily wear this tank top to work underneath a cardigan or blazer. It’s very cute and would be flattering if it fit well!
Cuts Clothing Review: In Conclusion
Overall, I love the tees from this brand, as usual! The shorts and tank top are a little harder to find the right size. Some experimenting and buying multiple sizes is probably the right idea if you want these pieces.
Cuts has a decent return policy so I’d say it’s worth it to order multiple sizes and find the right one, especially with the cost of the pieces. You want to make sure if fits well and you’re going to get a lot of use out of it. I believe they charge a restocking fee for returns though, so take that into consideration.
