Throughout the past few weeks, my friend Cassi and I have been trying all of the flavors of Poppi (the ones we could find anyway). In this Poppi review, we’ll be sharing our brutally honest opinions on all the Poppi flavors, ranking them from worst (never buy again) to best (absolutely obsessed, in love, head over heels). I’ll also be answering a few questions like: 1) Is Poppi good for you? 2) Is Poppi or Olipop healthier?

Poppi Review
This honest Poppi review will be broken up into the following sections (click the section to jump to it).
This review is unsponsored and all of our honest opinions. Of course, our opinions on the flavors may differ from yours, so I’d recommend trying out the flavors yourself! You can get a variety pack with a bunch of different flavors on Amazon, which is a great way to test them out and see what you like.
Let’s get into the questions on if Poppi is healthy…
Is the drink Poppi good for you?
Poppi is advertised as a healthier alternative to traditional soda. If you look at the Nutrition Facts and ingredients list, you’ll see why.
Looking at the Poppi Nutrition Facts for the classic cola, it has 25 calories and 5 grams of sugar. Compare this to a can of classic Coke which contains 140 calories and 39 grams of sugar.
However, you could look at a Poppi compared to a diet soda and think, this doesn’t seem much healthier. If you look at the nutrition facts on a diet Coke, you’ll see 0 calories and 0 grams of sugar. So from a strictly numbers perspective, the Poppi doesn’t seem any better, right?
However, you’ll want to look a little closer at the ingredients to really determine this.
Sweetener:
As opposed to traditional diet soda that are artificially sweetened, Poppi is sweetened with organic cane sugar and Stevia.
Prebiotics:
Poppi’s main claim to nutritional fame is that it’s a prebiotic soda.
If you’ve heard of probiotic foods (food that contain healthy bacteria, such as yogurt, kombucha, and fermented foods), this will help you understand what prebiotics are.
Prebiotics are basically food for these healthy gut bacteria. So to have a healthy gut/microbiome, you’d ideally want to have both prebiotics and probiotics in your diet.
Poppi also contains apple cider vinegar.
Overall, Poppi does seem to be a healthier alternative to traditional soda. But as always, it’s better to get prebiotics (and probiotics, and any other vitamins/minerals, for that matter) from a well balanced diet.
So while Poppi is a great option if you’re looking to cut back on soda, or just want a sweet treat in your day, you should absolutely still be eating a well rounded diet including fruits, vegetables, etc., for real nutritional benefits.
Is Olipop or Poppi healthier?
Olipop is another popular prebiotic soda on the market, which seems to be one of Poppi’s main competitors.
It’s also a lower calorie/sugar option (when compared to traditional soda), with 35-50 calories and 2-5 grams of added sugar per can.
The calorie and sugar content are pretty similar to Poppi’s numbers.
The big different in the Nutrition Facts between Olipop and Poppi is the fiber content.
Olipop contains up to 9 grams of fiber per can, while Poppi contains 2-3 grams.
Olipop’s ingredients contain a blend of botanicals, plant fibers, and prebiotics. Poppi’s ingredients contain apple cider vinegar.

Overall, whether Olipop or Poppi is healthier depends on your specific dietary needs and health goals.
Personally, I think they’re both great options to drink in moderation when you want a sweet, fizzy drink, but don’t want a traditional high-sugar soda.
Best Poppi Flavor, Ranked
Now that we’ve gotten the nutrition talk out of the way, let’s talk flavors.
In this section, I’ll be ranking Poppi flavors in order from worst to best. My friend, Cassi (who is basically a Poppi expert), will be sharing her rankings of the flavors she’s tried too!
So, let’s start with our least favorite flavor, the classic cola…
Classic Cola

I don’t know what this tastes like but it’s not cola.
As a big Coke and Coke Zero fan, I had high expectations with this flavor and was really excited to try it. Unfortunately, it missed the mark for me.
It’s pretty underwhelming overall and the Stevia aftertaste is extra apparent in this flavor.
It’s not bad, it just doesn’t taste like what I would expect a cola flavored drink to taste like.
Erin’s Rating: 3/10
Cassi’s Review:
I used to really like this one but it doesn’t hit the same anymore.
It reminds me more of root beer than a coke, which is odd considering they have a root beer flavor.
They definitely have better options.
Cassi’s Rating: 6/10
⭐ Classic Cola Average Rating: 4.5/10
Doc Pop

First sip: This just tastes like watered down diet Dr. Pepper.
It gets a little better the more you drink it, but it doesn’t have enough pop for a traditional soda flavor, in my opinion.
I probably wouldn’t get this one again since I like the other “soda” flavors better.
Erin’s Rating: 5/10
Lemon Lime

WOAH that lime flavor really punches you in the face. I was expecting this to taste like Sprite, but it is wayyy more limey than Sprite.
The more sips I take, I start to taste the lemon flavor more and it is not bad, but the lime flavor is overwhelming for my preference. And I generally really like lime juice/flavor on food, but this is too much.
I wouldn’t buy this one again but it’s not terrible… I’ll still finish the can.
Erin’s Rating: 4/10
Cassi’s Review:
This one feels like the pinnacle of a soda alternative.
It tastes a lot like sprite has a stronger lemon flavor. But it’s not as carbonated like sprite so it’s a bit easier to drink.
Super tasty and flavorful.
Cassi’s Rating: 8.5/10
⭐ Lemon Lime Average Rating: 6.25/10
Cherry Cola

I enjoyed this flavor but wasn’t as impressed with it as I expected to be. It has a really strong cherry flavor, which is tasty, but I wanted more of the cola flavor. It was slightly too sweet for my preference as well.
Overall, it’s tasty and I would buy it again if I was craving a cherry soda. But it lacked in the cola flavor in my opinion.
Erin’s Rating: 6.5/10
Cherry Limeade

Cassi’s Review:
This one was a bit odd.
It taste like a carbonated fruit punch which I wasn’t expecting, but overall I still enjoyed it.
I probably wouldn’t buy this one again but if it was available at a get together or something I could drink and enjoy it.
It’s fine but definitely not a must have.
Cassi’s Rating: 7.5/10
Cranberry Fizz

Cassi’s Review:
This one was a bit of a surprise but still really good!
It reminded me a lot of sprite but a bit sweeter and not as carbonated.
I honestly didn’t get a lot of notes of cranberry while drinking it but it was still delicious!
Definitely a great holiday pick.
Cassi’s Rating: 8/10
Grape

Cassi’s Review:
Love love this one! Grape soda lovers will adore this flavor.
It’s a lot like the lemon lime where it taste like a soda but isn’t as heavily carbonated, while being packed with a ton of flavor.
Definitely one of my favorites!
Cassi’s Rating: 9/10
Orange

The orange Poppi I’ve tried before and really enjoyed it! Upon trying it again, I can see why.
The orange flavor really packs a big punch. If you’re a fan of orange Crush or other orange soda, you’ll enjoy this one.
I really enjoy the orange flavor and it’s very carbonated. I will say, the orange flavor lingers a little too long. I was drinking this orange Poppi along with my lunch (spaghetti) and noticed that after I took a sip of the Poppi, then ate a bite of spaghetti, the spaghetti kind of tasted…orange.
It could just be because the orange flavor is so prominent it lingers on your tongue. But I just found it odd. I still really enjoyed this one and will continue buying it if I’m in the mood for orange soda.
Erin’s Rating: 8.5/10
Cassi’s Review:
This is my second favorite flavor behind the orange cream.
It tastes just like Fanta orange if you’re a fan of that, so it’s definitely a great soda alternative.
It’s one of those flavors that is definitely reliable and you know will be a great hit every time you drink it.
Cassi’s Rating: 9.5/10
⭐ Orange Average Rating: 9/10
🥇 Orange Cream 🥇

This is the first flavor I tried when I started working on this blog post. I’ve tried the orange flavored Poppi in the past (before having the idea to do a Poppi review) and enjoyed it. So I was hoping this would be flavor-wise somewhere in between the regular orange Poppi and the cream soda Olipop (which I love).

After trying the orange cream Poppi, it absolutely lives up to my expectations. It’s delicious!
It has a subtle cream soda flavor with orange intertwined into it. In my opinion, it really is a 50/50 orange to cream soda ratio.
This flavor reminds me more of the strawberry vanilla Olipop, but orange version. Which if you know how much I love the strawberry vanilla Olipop, you’ll know that’s a huge compliment.
I chugged this can way too fast because I just couldn’t put it down.
Overall, the orange cream Poppi is absolutely delicious. No notes. I’ll be buying this again ASAP.
If you like cream soda and you like orange soda, you’ll love this.
Erin’s Rating: 10/10
Cassi’s Review:
This is definitely the best flavor they have. It taste just like a orange creamsicle.
I wish they sold this one in a bigger can.
Definitely want to save this one for last because the other flavors will never compare.
