If you’re craving dessert after dinner, but no one else you live with wants anything… This stovetop apple crisp is the perfect solution! It’s easy to make, gluten-free, and can easily be made dairy-free. It’s a healthier option & filled with nutrients, complex carbs, and even some protein from the oats and walnuts. I’ve been munching on this when I get a post-dinner sweet craving, or for midday snacks when I need a little pick me up!

Now… What you all came for: the stovetop apple crisp recipe!

Ingredients
Topping:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1-2 tbsp honey (depending on how sweet you want it)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- pinch of salt
- 1 packet gluten-free oats
- 1/8 cup chopped walnuts
Apples:
- 1 apple (diced)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Top with dairy-free whipped cream & cinnamon (or your choice of sweet topping!)
This recipe is fully gluten-free. To make a dairy-free version, just replace the butter with coconut oil or a non-dairy butter substitute.

Directions
- In a small saucepan on medium heat, add in the Topping ingredients. Heat on medium, stirring often, until it starts to get bubbly then crisp (about 3-4 minutes) then remove from heat.
- In a small frying pan, add the Apples ingredients. Heat on low-medium, stirring often until the apple is slightly soft to the touch (about 5 minutes). *If the apple starts to brown before it is getting soft, add in water (1 tbsp at a time), throw a lid on the pan, and reduce to low heat.
- Pour the topping onto the apple mixture in a bowl, mix together, & top with dairy-free whip. Voila!
Hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I have!
