Equipment

  • small saucepan
  • mixing spoon

Ingredients

Topping

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1-2 tbsp honey depending on how sweet you want it
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 packet gluten-free oats
  • 1/8 cup chopped walnuts

Apples

  • 1 apple diced
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Top with dairy-free whipped cream & cinnamon (or your choice of sweet topping!)

    Instructions

    • In a small saucepan on medium heat, add in the Topping ingredients. Heat on medium, stirring often, until it starts to get bubbly then crisp (about 3-4 minutes) then remove from heat.
    • In a small frying pan, add the Apples ingredients. Heat on low-medium, stirring often until the apple is slightly soft to the touch (about 5 minutes). *If the apple starts to brown before it is getting soft, add in water (1 tbsp at a time), throw a lid on the pan, and reduce to low heat.
    • Pour the topping onto the apple mixture in a bowl, mix together, & top with dairy-free whip. Voila!
