If you’re sick of the healthy latte recipes… I’m sorry (not sorry). Read another post. I didn’t expect for this blog to turn into 50% healthy living/fitness 50% healthy latte recipes, but this is where we’re at. I think my excitement for my espresso machine will die down eventually, but we’re not there yet. 😉 So if you’re here now, I’m guessing you like the latte recipes. Therefore, I like you. LOL Anyway, my latte recipe today may be my absolute favorite so far, and that’s saying a lot. It’s that good. So I bring you, my healthy Nutella mocha recipe!
Healthy Nutella Mocha (Dairy-Free & Gluten-Free)
This recipe doesn’t actually require Nutella, but it’s an optional delicious addition. If you’re wanting the healthier, lower sugar, dairy-free version – skip the Nutella. But if you’re wanting a treat yo’self, delicious, chocolate hazelnut flavor explosion in your mouth version – add the Nutella. But it’s freaking delicious either way.
- 2 shots espresso (I use this [inexpensive] espresso machine & Starbucks espresso)
- 1 cup oat milk + 2 tbsp (you can substitute with your milk preference)
- 2 oz Hazelnut Nutpods creamer (use code VITALITYVIXENS for 15% off their site)
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp hazelnut extract
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 1 tbsp (dairy-free) chocolate chips
- 1-2 tbsp honey (2 tbsp if you like your coffee sweeter)
- optional: 1 tbsp Nutella (don’t add if you want a fully dairy-free/healthier version)
- optional: (dairy-free) whipped cream
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, cocoa powder, 2 tbsp oat milk, hazelnut & vanilla extract, and honey. Stir occasionally and keep it on the heat until everything melts together into a saucy consistency. If you need to, bump the heat up 1 or 2 notches.
- Add your oat milk & Nutpods to the saucepan with your chocolate sauce mixture & bump the heat up to medium-low. Keep it on the stove until hot, but not boiling, then remove from heat.
- Pull your double shot of espresso. If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can use 1/2 a cup of STRONG coffee instead.
- Pour your espresso (or coffee) into a mug. Pour the steamed oat milk/Nutpods/chocolate sauce mixture on top and stir until well combined. Optional: top with dairy-free whipped cream!
If you’d prefer an iced mocha version: You can easily make one swap to make this an iced latte. You have a couple of options… Either skip the entire milk-heating step and just pour cold oat milk/Nutpods and ice into a glass instead. Or if you change your mind after already making the hot latte… Just give it 10-20 minutes to cool down and pour it over a glass of ice. Voila!

This sounds like an absolute dream. I would TOTALLY add the Nutella and would still opt to call it healthy because I’m just that kind of person LOL. This might be my favourite latte of yours as well.
